For those who've already signed on, what's it like?
Is there a registration fee? I last played the pencil & paper game back in 2008. The long and short of it is that after a member of the group I was running passed away that year the rest of the players didn't feel right continuing the campaign. I'm tempted to perhaps register and play a little, but I've got a lot on my plate right now and so wouldn't be able to justify actually devoting time to it unless it was just that awesome. Thanks. -------------------- Lexicon: still up and running!

Not likely, those are Clan designs. Game is set in the 3025 era.

It's also, repeatedly stated, free to play. Or rather; using a microtransaction system.

The site FAQ implied it was set in real-time current era. -------------------- Don't fail to see Nyarlathotep if he comes to Providence. All I ask for is a Catapult, and a high ground to shoot from. I think this was from the Xbox version, but I'd love to be a Vtol pilot. I loved supplying my team with supplies and flying low and fast to get them what they needed, tossing stuff on them just in time to give them the edge or keep them alive. Hehe. |

Okay so they changed from the original plan of 3025 era. Bugger, I was in the mood for a 4th Succession War game.
Still if it's in 3049 when it hits, then the Clan Invasion is still Juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust starting, maybe 1st contact on The Rock is made. Nova Cat MAY be possible, but Blood Asp is unlikely as it's technically a Blood Spirit 'Mech, who aren't part of the invasion - hell, Clan Nova Nova Cat aren't in the invasion at this point as it's Ulric Kerensky that activates the Clan - at this point, Leo Showers is the IlKhan. Of course, either 'Mech might be captured equipment from either Clan used by the Wolves/Jade Falcons/Smoke Jaguars/Ghost Bears, but unlikely. -------------------- |

I'm not really too worried about the specifics of what's available, I just hope they get the controls and gameplay itself right.

I'm not really too worried about the specifics of what's available, I just hope they get the controls and gameplay itself right. This. Regardless of what we WANT to play, we'll still be limited to what they throw in and we will all eventually find out niches. But if the controls, gameplay and graphics SUCK, there's no point in playing at all. -------------------- |

Bump with content:
(IMG:http://i42.tinypic.com/idt4pt.jpg) So this is Mechwarrior Tactics, which is another new thing. We're not quite sure what it is yet, but you can sign up for it and scuttlebutt is that it might be some browser-based version of the tabletop game. Setting is 3025. -------------------- Don't fail to see Nyarlathotep if he comes to Providence. He is horrible horrible beyond anything you can imagine but wonderful.
