Think of all that could be done with it, a single player campaign much like last years HD console version of War for Cybertron with WiFi or local co-op campaign and multiplayer games.
Mini games usng the various features of the 3DS like the camera, the gyroscope and stylus. Imagine Face Raiders only with Insecticons. It might be a blast to have for conventions, just bring 3DS with a copy and have a tournament there UPDATE 9/5/2012 NEW TRAILER This post has been edited by tigerhawk: May 9 2012, 01:55 AM -------------------- |

Here's hoping they put that kind of effort in to it.

From the thread title, I was expecting somekind of info. on the game indicating that there was a chance it could be epic. Without knowing any more, the game could also easily be lame.

So four months on, 3DS library has had some impressive titles of late, is there any renewed interest in the potential of a 3DS version of Fall of Cybertron?

I'd buy it if it was a proper game and was compatible with the circle pad pro. I would avoid it at all cost if it was a stealth force game.

They wouldn't be able to make the same game. Nintendo's handhelds are only good for heavily modified versions of console games because of the drastically different hardware and controls. Just look at all the DS versions of Transformers games for examples of that.

What if Fall of Cybertron 3D materialised as a strategy game?
After reading about Optimus guiding Metroplex in the new game (and not reading the source material) how would you feel about a game like Command and Conquer where you can build bases that collect energon (normal, dark, super) and built units like ground forces such as Light and heavy infantry, snipers and flyers with vehicles such as destroyer tanks and battlecruisers, which you can reinforce by manning them with infantry. the likes of Trypticon and Metroplex would be better off as weapons rather then the bases themselves. It could use the mic and touch screen to issue commands and come with unlockables. This post has been edited by Tornadron: Mar 7 2012, 10:41 AM -------------------- |

I preferred the DS versions of the movie games and War for Cybertron to be honest. the PS3 and Xbox games were rather soulless affairs. -------------------- Follow me on twitter |

I don't understand this argument at all. Handhelds are tremendously under powered machines with far fewer buttons than their console counterparts. Multi platform games that go handheld almost always suffer for it. Especially when the budget is centered more on the consiole relases. Also the PSP is not as powerful as a PS2 as many claim. It's more like a faster PS1. -------------------- |

Anyone else read the title as "The fall of the 3DS will be epic"? It isn't going anywhere soon after the huge sales in the holiday season. Though such success won't ensure a decent Transformers game for it. This post has been edited by Tornadron: Mar 8 2012, 04:20 AM -------------------- |

Ive wanted a console experience in my hands for a very long.time now. It seems to me that the best handheld versions of console games have been ones that haven't even bothered trying to replicate the console experience, but instead try to follow the path of great original titles for the same handheld systems. Mario 3D Land doesn't play like Mario 64/Galaxy...and that's a huge part of what makes it such a great game. There are exceptions. Sidescrolling platformers, fighting games, puzzle games, etc. tend to be at least decent on handhelds when trying to mimic the console experience. However, I haven't played a free-roaming 3D game on a handheld that didn't just leave me longing to actually play on the console, regardless of how well it was pulled off. I don't want a console experience on the go. I want an evolving handheld experience, one that evolves on it's own (semi)independent path from the evolution of console games. .... But I still respect those that want console experiences on the go. I've just come to realize that such an experience is something that will never satisfy me based on my own tastes. It's the reason I have both Sony and Nintendo handhelds (I actually carry a 3DS and Vita everywhere I go), but spend more time on the Nintendo systems. It's not that I think Nintendo's games are "better", but overall more tailored to portable experiences. There are enough exceptions on both platforms though, for gamers to be satisfied either way. Wow, that was a long rant. Anyway, I hope Fall of Cybertron 3DS transitions to handhelds as elegantly as the best portable Spider-Man games-not mimicking the consoles, but really maximizing on the unique handheld experience, without settling for a cheap cash-in. -------------------- |

I thought the original War for Cybertron, Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions and Resident Evil 4 and 5 would translate well on a handheld since their broken down into chapters with save points and feature simple gameplay. And now Resident Evil has been proven to work through two games on 3DS, The Amazing Spider-Man is going to return to being a free roam game much like Spider-Man 2 which may work. All I have to go on for War for Cybertron is Metroid Prime Hunters on the DS which played similar to the console version, closer to it then the Transformers Autobot/Decepticon movie games.
Perhaps Vita will get console ports and feature transfarring like Metal Gear Solid HD collection. This post has been edited by Tornadron: Mar 12 2012, 01:59 AM -------------------- |

And just like that there's no hope for ANYTHING related the Fall of Cybertron on 3DS, instead were getting Transformers Prime AKA: CRAP.
