I'm starting to watch Torchwood Miracle day. And they eventually introduce a guy played by Wayne Knight aka Newman of Seinfeild. I keep thinking to myself "Its Newman! How the hell can you trust Newman?" Becuase every role I see the guy play he's Newman, the fat untrustable douche that screws everyone over in the end.
It also reminds me of a comment from the new Thundercats "Even if you never seen the old show, you know Grune's gonna be a bad guy becuase he's voiced by Clancy Brown." So are there any series or movies you've watched where the actor choice kinda spoils things becuase they almost always same play the same character or casted in a villain role? Likely more concerns villains or supposed-to-be neutral parties, rather then heroes. -------------------- ***Signature removed by Staff due to size restrictions. Clancy Brown in "Cowboys & Aliens" was hard to process as a total good guy.
The bad guy military leader from "Avatar" plays almost exactly the same guy in "Terra Nova". I'm hoping that's a fake-out. -------------------- |

Then again, Clancy Brown played a pretty upstanding George Stacey in The Spectacular Spider-Man. Then again, he was also The Rhino...

Anyone played by Miguel Ferrara is usually a villain.

I don't think I'll ever be able to take Steve Buschemi seriously.

In hindsight, it's a lot harder to trust Luke Skywalker or Skips the Yeti from Regular Show since Mark Hamill's mostly done villain roles like the Joker, Fire Lord Ozai and Skeleton King.
On the flipside, it's hard for me to take Knockout seriously because, well... -------------------- The best shark around

I was the one who made the Clancy Brown comment, I think (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)
He has played good guys. In live action he played a "good father" character on Earth 2. But there is some type casting to be sure. Wayne Knight is a great example. I'll see if I can think of any. |

Clancy has played good guys, but tends to be more famous for his villains or at least seems to be. Its why I added "or always seems to be casted in a villains role" -------------------- ***Signature removed by Staff due to size restrictions. Please keep to 500X200 images and text included.***

JEREMY IRONS.
SCAR. One of the most exquisitely voiced villains ever. How can he NOT be a villain with that voice? -------------------- |

Well, I can forgive a lot of these guys listed thus far:
Clancey Brown: Danzigger on Earth 2, likable guy Michael Ironside: Racjak on Starship Troopers and the 3rd commander of the Seaquest Jeremy Irons: harder, but at least he was decent as Tiberius in Kingdom of Heaven But that said, yea, all are villain bait. I'll add Willem DaFoe and Robert Patrick to the list. -------------------- Clearing out some old TFs and Mugenbine in my BST Thread. You know you want some of these.

EDIT: Of course, this thread also needs the "Villains you can't take seriously as a threat because of the actor who plays them" side of the discussion, for when an actor whose past roles preclude him as a viable threat as a villain. Topher Grace as Venom, anyone? This post has been edited by BeltlineYYC: Sep 22 2011, 01:03 PM -------------------- |

Oh I remember, that falls under "screws everyone over in the end" Any time something bad happens, and he's been around; there's a good chance he's the reason it went bad. -------------------- ***Signature removed by Staff due to size restrictions. Yeah, rewatching Robocop after watching that 70's Show gives a new spin on his character there. I wish "That 80's show" had been a continuation, just becuase I would have loved to see a scene of them watching Robocop. Jack Nicholson.
Great actor, but he's only capable of playing one character. And that character is "Jack Nicholson". And he's usually a crazy lunatic. -------------------- Hey, check out one of my sites!
