Mike McFarland also mentioned that in a commentary. Garp I understand, as with Hachi and such, but Rayleigh isn't even named at that point, has all of one line, and only kinda sorta looks like him. The character probably hadn't even been written in at that point! Still, that's the brilliance of Oda and One Piece (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif)

Ooh, looks like Namco Bandai filed a trademark for Pirate Warriors in the U.S.! Could this mean a North American release???

I just found out about Shonen Jump Alpha today...I'm tempted to use that...25 bucks a year and a 2 week wait on each chapter is a small price to pay in order to have quality One Piece times.
And who knows? I may end up liking some other things too...maybe. -------------------- |

It's been a while. Those keeping up with the Manga: How're you enjoying this crazy Punk Hazard Arc? I'm loving it. Definitely one of the craziest arcs ever.

Sorry for the bump but I have a question for all you One Piece anime fans.
I want to grab those new DVD sets they have been doing since last year (I assume they are uncut) but I was wondering if One Piece suffered from terrible filler arcs to avoid catching up to the manga like other shows (Eg. Naruto, Bleach etc etc) or are the fillers still the same quality as the normal story. If anyone could let me know it would be much appreciated. |

There's eleven filler arcs in the anime.
They vary in quality, but One Piece tends to do good filler. Scroll down to the Filler arcs section so you can see what to skip. -------------------- Don't fail to see Nyarlathotep if he comes to Providence. Yeah, One Piece is really good about filler when compared to other series. And those Collection DVDs are really great. If you get the 5 that are available (6 won't be out for another month) you've got 130 episodes (the first 2 seasons, all the way through the Alabasta Arc), only 12 of which are filler (11.5 really, since half-way through one episode the story gets back on track). Unfortunately, volume 6 is 50% filler episodes, but they're pretty fun. And Funimation is supposed to be making a One Piece related announcement sometime in the next few weeks, most likely related to the release of season 4.
