When it became known that Toxitron was going to be a BC exlusive, I was stoked for an RtS Laser Prime repaint. And then disappointed to see it was an Animated version instead (though his incorporation into that universe was done well). Fun Pub has been known to make different-universe incarnations of the same character over time – pre-BW Cheetor and Animated Cheetor, Classics Thundercracker and SG Thundercracker, G2 Breakdown and Animated Breakdown, etc. – so I still have some fingers crossed that we'll see a Primax Toxitron eventually. But I wonder which mold would be best.
Originally I had no question about this; it was RtS Laser Prime all the way. And I would still love to see that. But in a thread on the TFCC forums, someone suggested DoTM Megatron, which I have to admit would be pretty fantastic too. It has the benefit of a tanker trailer, and Toxie is one of the very few Primax characters that the movie aesthetic would fit. There are multiple size options for Fun Pub to utilize, depending on how much they would want to invest in the project: Cyberverse Commander, Cyberverse Action Set, and Voyager. Of those, I would prefer the Voyager because Toxie should be as big and hulking as possible, and the shroud adds to the aura of hideousness. But Cyberverse is awesome, and the Action Set in particular would hearken to the original Laser Prime mold. In that respect, it's even more Toxitronny than the RtS mold. What do you think? Which mold would you prefer, or do you even want another Toxie, having already gotten an Animated version? -------------------- To contact me, please send mail to aquamandible (at) yahoo (dot) com

Any movie Megatron toy is definitely offlimits to FP. You'd have to depend on Hasbro.

Yeah Fun Pub can't use any Movie figures that appear in the films or are a licensed vehicle, so Megatron is out of the question.
I'd prefer him to be made from RtS Optimus like some customs shown on these boards. Randy -------------------- ![]() |

I have no hope of Hasbro doing this (as obscure as they've gotten lately, I think Toxie is still beyond their pale), so RtS Laser Prime it is. Which gets back to the other question: Do you even want to see another Toxitron at all? I definitely do, but I don't know how many folks might be fully satisfied with the Animated toy. -------------------- To contact me, please send mail to aquamandible (at) yahoo (dot) com

I've said it before... The majority of the appeal for Toxitron was in the spill deco on his trailer. The cab had nothing going for it as far as toxicity goes. It was just a green, purple and gray truck. I loved the purple and gray in robot mode, but...not "toxic".
So a RTS Prime, I feel, would be like half the toy. And the less interesting half of the toy at that. Voyager Megatron would definitely be cool, but as has been said, Fun Pub couldn't do it. (I do not want a RiD Scourge from RTS Prime either. As well-crafted as I've seen some customs, inevitably, the new transformation on RTS Prime ruins the Scourge homage.) -------------------- |

I recall you saying that you didn't think Animated Toxie's drippy-gloop deco would match the RtS mold's realism, and I agree. But I do think a grungy "spray" paint-app, like he'd driven through toxic mud, would work quite well. The main benefit I see in the trailer is the idea that he's carrying the toxic waste – and in the Megatron molds, the tank becomes a cannon, which is perfect. But that's more of a luxury to me; the character-reference alone would be enough to make me buy it, trailer or no. Edit: Oh, and yeah Nick, that's a great custom. Exactly the sort of thing I was picturing. It'll be awesome to see it with the "slime and an obnoxious name". i was against the megatron mold until i saw nickstart's work. i'd be all for it if hasbro put that out.
but i'd really prefer toxitron to be done with the original laser prime mold just for the trailer. i'd rather have the rts mold done up as scourge -------------------- ![]() |

I'm actually in the middle of this. When I first saw movie Megatron, he spoke to me. Oh jive, son! I made the grabby hands because I want it. I said I'd take any other head on that toy painted up as anyone else, but now I'm not sure if I can settle for anything short of that little pile of excellence you've created there. Well done. |

I'm largely on the side of RtS G2 Prime, but I do wonder if it might be possible to go in a different direction entirely, like using RtS Hailstorm/Mindset with a new head and recasting the "toxic" as him being a biowarfare psycho (or technowarfare, as it were).

I'm not sure I'd want another Toxitron: the Animated toy did the concept rather well, and without the trailer, it leaves you wanting. I'd love that Movie Megatron concept, but it's impossible.
If FunPub's going to make RtS G2 Prime into anything, I'd rather he was re-decoed as Laser Ultra Magnus, if anything. But that's me. -------------------- Being part of any fandom is fundamentally embarassing.

I wanna see it made from Energon Prime. With all his little drones all toxic'd up.
Also, mouthed version, so they can paint some goop dripping from it. -------------------- QUOTE You're far too young to be this bitter and angry at the world.... ![]() |

I'm ambivalent about it, but I wouldn't object to a non-Animated version of Toxitron in the slightest, using RTS G2 Prime or not (though that seems the logical choice). A small part of me wishes they'd use the Armada Bendy Prime mold, however.

Finally got around to wrapping up my Toxitron. I've got a thread full of pictures over in Iacon.
(IMG:http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ULJmoaiOSh8/Tl1nfPuWzWI/AAAAAAAAAF4/SgrFZVve_00/s320/P1010170.JPG) Also, I realized I still need to throw his name on him, but imagine it accross his bumper. Unfortunately the molded detail on the tanker makes anything short of an actual lithograph impossible, but Toxitron will not be denied. -------------------- |
