I've always been annoyed by how many steps you have to go to to bid on an auction when someone outbids you at the last minute. Often it can't be done. (This is a bit hypocritical and I know it, since I'm not at all annoyed that other people had so many steps to go to to bid when *I* outbid THEM at the last minute) I just tried the 1-click bid for the first time yesterday and my computer hesitated and I wound up bidding $5,757 on something.
Yikes! Now, I didn't get stung because the item wasn't something so dangerous. I won it for $51. But if TWO of us 1-click bid in a hurry, it could've been an ugly situation. Just thought people oughtta have a heads up. |

It was like Dissever said. Not a technical error on eBay's part, but not an uncommon combination of human error and local computer problem. My computer just got busy for a second and didn't register what I typed. I didn't catch that and click the box again quickly and typed and hit "1-click bid" and boom. I'd made a staggering offer on a used toy.
