Bwah? Where are you people going to watch this? As far as I know, it premieres at Comic-Con & doesn't hit stores until July 27th. I could understand 1 or 2 ppl getting an advanced peek, but since 4 piped up, I am a tad confuzzed.

Or am I missing something?

Kevin

It starts with "T" and rhymes with "borrent".

And yeah, this was pretty gosh-danged awesome. I didn't dig much on Neil Patrick Harris, though - he didn't sound genuine. Sounded like he was actively putting on a puffed-out-chest fake-sounding "heroic" voice.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that figure comes with the best buy exclusive...and I had no problem with NPH's voice work as Dick at all. He was bang on as far as I'm concerned. I've seen this now twice and both times were great. I can't wait to get this next week.

I enjoyed it, I don't care that it isn't TAStastic ...

because I know that isn't the point. it has nothing to do with TAS, TAS as hard as it is to say... ISN'T BATMAN its TAS: Batman... just like DarkKnight is Nolan Batman...

I liked that Joker was a 'normal' DC sized guy in this.

Afterall he WAS, originally a big 'heroic build' guy before.

sure I enjoy the frail wiry manic Joker as much as the next guy ... but he works better in stories where a DRASTIC CONTRAST is needed. and this story is all about JUST HOW DAMN CLOSE these characters are to BEING each other.

also.. anything with Tallia is win... Ra's is okay too...

as for the acting, spot on on all counts. not once did I look at the models and hear the voices and think.. no, that doesn't fit and yes NPH having a 'forced puffed up hero voice' -or whatever IS perfect for the Nightwing we see in this movie...

he's obviously still in that "SEE WHAT I CAN DO DAD" stage.

anyway I thought it worked. I think this is a perfect lead in to them making a movie about the current comic story with Damian Wayne.

but yeah I did feel the distinct lack of any hint that Tim was around...

no spoilers, but a slightly alternate ending would have really brought this movie to close with a gut punch of pathos.

HIGHLIGHT to view:
Instead of having Batman flashback to a young Jason as robin ready for adventure be the close out... ad another minute to show that its Tim standing there on a different Batmobile, and have Batman say something like... "Be right there Tim."

Is the Red Hood's voice actor the one who did Terry in Batman Beyond? The voice in the commericials sounds just like Batman Beyond.

Nope, Terry is Will Friedle, Red Hood is Jensen Ackles.

That was better than any DC animated movie, including the DCAU ones.

Hell, it was better than the comic it was adapted from, and I love that story arc!

Watched it this evening.

Thought it was great and in many ways better than the source material (cutting out the Infinite Crisis tie in stuff was a big plus). Probably my favorite of the DC animated movies I've seen thus far.

John Dimaggio's Joker was very, very different. Very subdued, but more frightening and "real" because of it, too. Certainly not the "Dr. Drakken" voice I was anticipating. I liked it, or at least, it worked well with that version of the Joker.

The Jonah Hex short was pretty cool, too. Great voice over work from Thomas Jane.

Oh oh oh.
In the tradition of Owl Woods, somebody totally needs to edit Nightwing Patrick Harris using some audio from Harold and Kumar.

Watched it this evening. I loved it. I'm not sure what to think about the Joker's VA though. I'm not used to the Joker being so...subdued. But in any case, I loved it.

Problem though, I know there's a co-worker of mine who's going to ask me about it tomorrow and I'm not sure what to say. I mean, I loved it. But my very first Batman graphic novel was "Death in the Family." So I know who Jason Todd is. But I'm not sure how much someone would enjoy it if they have no idea who Jason Todd is. Not sure how much they'd enjoy it if they don't at least have that bit of info. Any way, I'm definetly going to have to find some way to recommend it. It's just way too good.

Oh, and one more thing. This fall, Superman/Batman Apocalypse? Retelling Supergirl's introduction story (which I also have that graphic novel too)? Kevin freaking Conroy? Summer Glau? They had me at 'hello.' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-silverbolt.gif)

So I finally got a chance to watch this last night. Let me just say, that this was an awesome animated film! Joker wasn't all that great IMO, but he worked for the story. I guess 'm just used to the three previous versions of the joker. Although the Prison scenes with him in it were great.

I had to go to Amazon and save a buck... Mine still isn't here.

If Tim isn't in it, then one of my favorite moments of the story isn't in the movie. When Red Hood comes and beats up Robin and then pulls off his helmet and reveals that he wears a freaking Robin mask under his Red Hood helmet.

Well, it's there but... without Tim.

I love Tim, Tim is my favorite character, I want Tim in every book. But adding him to this would be superfluous and waste time.

The story where he first met Jason wasn't even in Batman or Robin, it was just some filler issue of Teen Titans which was just as dedicated to Jason wondering why he never got a statue (and, no real explanation for why not). Then after Jason pouts and Tim blacks out, Tim wakes up and Jason is gone and none of them fell out the window at all.

Wearing the mask under the helmet makes sense as far as identification him as Robin. What's silly is when he kept doing it in other stories.

New Frontier, Crisis on Two Earths, and Under the Red Hood are the three best so far.
