On first glance, the Protectobot APC and Tank seem weird. But that's only because we're used to G1. "Protect" doesn't necessarily mean rescue vehicles. You can protect things with armored vehicles too!

Woo, I really like the Destron team. Great colors there.
The protectobots are ok. It's weird having a jet, tank thing, and half-track thing on a rescue team. The other repaints look ok, but nothing special there. |

Interesting that they switched the Minicons entirely around. Especially since Darkstream can't hold Razorbeam in axe mode. Really. I've tried.
Loving putting Caliburst with Searchlight tho. Great combo there. I love the Destrons, but the Protectobots are kinda awkward. I would have preffered the arm jet and the jeep to go with them, but I suspect Hasbro wanted to mix up the limbs a bit more. --------------------  |

It does look like the Caliburst minicon goes better with the Backwind scout. Least, IMO.

The Huffer mold looks amazing in the Dark Convoy colors. Destrons are a must buy.
I didn't know they were going to swap the commanders and 5-pack leaders. Makes it easier to skip the Skyburst recolor as he's the weakest of Wave 1 IMO. I'm liking this line more and more. It's great to have so much "fiddle value" in such small toys. |

Ah, so I guess Bombshock's repaint ISN'T Bludgeon influenced like I thought from the slides at Botcon.
Not really into any of these new colors, so I'm glad I already picked up Bombshock. At least they can split up the Minicons and drones in any way they want so everything isn't completely a straight up repaint. |

I do find it disturbing that 3/5 of the Protectobots are vehicles of destruction.
