Ultimate Ben Riley was black. He wasn't a spider-clone, but retconning 616 Ben into a different race could be one of the unseen effects of OMD.

How on Earth can they say "I feel like we've done as much as we can do in terms of Peter Parker's time as Spider-Man." with a straight face? All that's been done the past decades is rehashing old ground to the point where they've even retconned his marriage, certainly one of the most character evolving moments of Spider Man's life.
There are so many things that could be touched on that they haven't even attempted. Letting the character grow naturally, middle age, kids, the whole 9 yards. This 'we've done everything' jive smacks of a writer/editor who can't look beyond the 20 something years and find worth in middle age. What a horribly short sighted, stupid thing to say/attitude to have, especially for a comic book editor. If you truly think you've explored everything you can, then walk away and let someone else have a crack. -------------------- "Why does history repeat itself? Because God doesn't have TiVo."

Marvel is also getting ready to introduce the new Spider-Girl shown in "Young Allies" in "Amazing Spider-Man 637 (I thought that was the arc name for the first Avengers arc). This sounds like Alexander Luthor from Infinite Crisis, "we must find a better Spider-Man!" how the hell is Peter Parker not a "better" Spider-Man? I'm intrigued about the notion but they'd better not hug around with this too much or else it'll be Clone Saga part deux IMO.

I'm still begging for them to finally stabilize Kaine's molecular structure and have him take over as Spidey once Peter's memories get fixed.

Okay I didn't know since I was getting confused with the "Spider-Girl" shown in the Avengers first arc that was standing next to the future Hulk at the end of the first issue. There's been speculation that is Peter and Felica's daughter.
