We've got preview pages, folks! http://www.newsarama.com/php/multimedia/album.php?aid=34871

Aside from some akward transitions from panel to panel in the first few pages, it really captures what I'd look for in a DW comic!

Thankfully the art is "not final" so there may be time to add sound effects to help the flow.

The script is great!

And while the panel transitions aren't as fluid as they could be, the artist has the character designs and expressions down pat. It's nice to see they aren't "stylizing" the characters to fit an artist and trying their best to adhere to the look of the cartoon.

I can't wait.

Looks great, and seems like an engrossing story so far, something with an interesting plot.

Fan reaction really HAS been huge, hasn't it?

Makes you wonder if it'll finally make Disney stop pretending like their 80s and early 90s Disney Afternoon titles never existed. The fact that they never referenced Rescue Rangers or Darkwing Duck ONCE during the entire run of Houe of Mouse ticked me off...

That would be like Sega remembering their 16bit era characters other than Sonic - Never gonna happen.

This... never even occured to me...

Could you imagine a dark wing figure with real cloth clothing and 20 odd points of articulation? Man... 80's geek heaven.

It's a long shot, but I figure that if this comic book series does really well and the character gains popularity again, there's at least a CHANCE Disney might make a figure of DW. I can dream, can't?

On top of that, he was originally conceived as "Double-O Duck" a Bond parody. Somewhere along the lines he was converted to a superhero parody.

Secret agents are basically the benchmark for competence. If you have a cartoon about a bumbling duck, he's not a secret agent. If you have a cartoon about a secret agent, then he's not a bumbling duck. Really, they couldn't have it both ways.

But a bumbling, narcissistic, meglomaniacal SUPERHERO! That's another pot of tea entirely.

As psyched as I am for OMFG NEGADUCK, his face seems kinda off-model in that cover.

Man, it really says something when out of all the comics I keep track of, THIS is the one I'm most-pumped about.
