My wife and I visited the Nuremberg Toyfare today and I went by the Hasbro booth to look at the Transformers. Here's what I saw.
The RPMs line seems to a major success and there'll be lots of new products there. Apart from at least a dozen new RPM cars I've seen, there is a new race track / play set, titled "Bumblebee's Battle Track". Additionally a new RPM subline called "Stealth Force" was introduced. This line consists of Voyager- and Deluxe-sized vehicles. They can't transform into robots, but they do electronically fold out weapons and other technical knick-knacks. Optimus Prime and Megatron come in Voyager-size, Bumblebee in Deluxe size. Finally, the RPM line is rounded out by a new Bumblebee car, a remote controlled one this time. Size-wise it's somewhere between Ultimate Battle BB and Human Alliance BB. Among the "real" Transformers we saw Leader Starscream (in the new orange packaging), Seaspray and Power Core Combiner Huffer, all old news. What I hadn't seen so far, though, were the following: - Scout class figure Hubcap, who transforms into a red muscle car - Scout class figure Brimstone, who transforms into a blue motorbike - Power Core combiner Team "Aerialbots", consisting of a leader figure just below Deluxe size and four team members just below Scout size. No sign of any War for Cybertron or Animated figures, sadly. -------------------- ![]() Check out the first German Transformers Fan Convention C.O.N.S., presented by NTF-Archive.de, Germany's number one Transformers Forum. |

Most intriguing. Good work, Phil. Thanks. Sadly no pictures were allowed, but I assume we'll get them from the US Toyfare in a few days. A blue motorcycle named Brimstone? I'm not getting it. Maybe the robot mode will make it appropriate.
Also, it sounds like those who bought ROTF Bruticus and Superion wasted their money. This post has been edited by Octavius Prime: Feb 6 2010, 05:30 PM -------------------- |

Someone at Hasbro must REALLY love those two combiner teams. Hopefully there will be at least one more combiner, and hopefully it won't be a team of constructicons. -------------------- I may be lying

Hell's Angels. Satan's Choice. Hell's Rejects. Ghost Rider.
I think Brimestone's a brilliant name for a biker gang motorcycle. -------------------- ![]() |

I do hope for a new Computron combiner one of these days...
I don't mind that Brimstone is a blue motorcycle, the robot mode just didn't appeal to me, that's all. -------------------- ![]() Check out the first German Transformers Fan Convention C.O.N.S., presented by NTF-Archive.de, Germany's number one Transformers Forum. |

Really hoping Hubcap's an Autobot. Not gonna complain whatever faction Brimstone ends up on, however.

Thank you, was hoping for confirmation! Hubcap's a buy either way, but I'm looking forward to seeing Brimstone in person. -------------------- William Rendfeld

Also, it sounds like those who bought ROTF Bruticus and Superion wasted their money. How/why would you say that? We don't know that the PCC versions will be in any way superior. And frankly, given the number frequency of character/name/theme reuse in this brand, buying anything at all could be considered a waste of money. I don't see where this is some special case in which the figures are suddenly "worthless". This post has been edited by Lukeblast: Feb 6 2010, 06:07 PM -------------------- ![]() |

Vehicles with pop-out weapons and special equipment? Hasbro wouldn't be trying to sneak in a little homage m.a.s.k.ed as a new subline, would they?

my 2 cents:
the staelth force RPM'S remind me of those old school 1980's mask toys. so at the very least were getting some sort of mask toy line homage here with these RPM stealth toys. I love updatted homages based of G-1 characters. even better I love updatted homages of obsecure G-1 characters that haven't been updatted the heck out of like those diaclone TF toys. the scout homages seem to be done in the proper scale in relation to there opriginal toys+ranks. those ROTF combiners seem cool. I love 5+ figures combining. my only complaint is couldn't hasbro/takara have given us scramble city combiners we didn't already get in the energon 2004 toy line. I would have preferred to get computron, defensor, abonimus, monstructor, menasor, preadking, piranaking. maybe even liokaiser, dinoking, raiden & road caesar. A new Superion is awesome, since my fanverse now contains four of them (the original "limbs" were upgraded to lead their own squadrons). Did this guy's core unit look like anyone from G1?
