MY WISHES OVER THEIR AIRSPACE There was a Gundam 00 Abridged attempt a while back and that was basically their only good joke. *As Exia falls to AEU base* "Sir, we have an object fast approaching!" "What is it, can you get identification?" "No idea, sir. It might be their wishes over our airspace!" The Typical Gundam Seed Destiny had a similar joke where Shinn Asuka becomes a massive fan of Gundam 00 and goes around singing the theme song, but can never remember the words, so he just sings "SOMETHING, SOMETHING, AIRSPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!" |

If I'm reading the right one, then it's as hilarious as you claim.

Been a while but is that the one with "...That didn't make any sense!" "It doesn't have to. IT'S DESTINY!!" *stab* Yeah. Shinn is so stab-happy in that. My favorite exchange was- QUOTE "It's over, Shinn! I have the high ground!" "What the hell are you talking about, Athrun? it's SPACE- we ALL HAVE THE HIGH GROUND!" "I meant the MORAL high ground." "LIAR!" Oh, the whole series is up on deviantart, uncut. You gotta be a member to read it, but membership is free. http://mikepriest83.deviantart.com/gallery...am-Seed-Destiny |

Looking over some of the chapters, I'm gonna be picky and say I don't think involving 00 worked. Destiny had alot in it that could be sent up (and yes, to be fair, 00) but the story now seems to be one of those generic random 'characters in name only' pieces that fans love to write.

Yeah, the "Reunion Special" that involved almost every other major Gundam character in the franchise didn't work so well either. I think the author even admitted that in the Mechatalk thread. Still, his attempt to write the Gundam Seed Movie using the same conventions Destiny applied to Seed is pretty great. Heh "Hi-ZAKU", "Ric-DOM" and "Impulse Destiny". |

Y'know, it really disappoints me how the Freedom and Destiny dropped their predecessors' pack gimmicks. They're an interesting idea that lets the MS be effective in many different conditions, and it would even mean more kit sales.

Yeah, it's a pretty sweet gimmick. I note that my MG Freedom has a detachable wing pack--I don't have any other SEED MGs, so I don't know if it's the same connector as the other packs or not.

It uses the same polycap/tab system that the MG Strike / MG Strike Noir / 1/100 Akatsuki use. However, it doesn't fit on any of those kits, as the Striker Packs are specifically contoured to their backs, with the port sunken in somewhat, and with a prominent thruster on the smalls of their backs that interfered.
Striker Packs fit just fine on the Freedom, however. Of course, the point of Freedom/Destiny, was that they were all-purpose suits. Rather than rely on "mission packs", they'd be capable of fighting in almost any circumstance right out of the gate. They might not have the focused output of Strike/Impulse, but they're quicker to adapt. |

Hm. I'll keep that in mind if I ever get any more SEED MGs.
I'm more interested in the HGs, as they fit in more with my much larger 1/144 collection. -------------------- Thanks, StarSaber! |

Ooh, also, the MG Impulse kits have a dummy core block that allows compatibility with the MG-style Striker packs.

I always liked Impulse more than Destiny.
Destiny needs more red and some color from Blast Impulse, IMO. -------------------- |

What bugs me more are Destiny's wings. Not the Wings of Light, those are cool. But the Gundam itself is very straight-edged and angular, but the wings are curved and organic. It doesn't quite gel. That, and the colours. I know they were trying to invoke a triple-Strike Pack image, but the light blue sword and the dark green cannon, simultaneously, looks kinda silly.
Sword Impulse is awesome, even better with the modifications made to the design for the MG. I like the colours on Blast Impulse, but the pack design is nothing special. I think Force Impulse looks worse than the Aile Strike, mostly the colour scheme addition of the light blue panels, which just look kinda messy to me. That, and I like Aile's bigass booster engines. Force Silhouette's dinky thrusters don't look substantial enough. |

I would love a rewritten Destiny movie version that was redirected in Shinn's favour.
