I'd buy Leader Bonecrusher. I'll believe Leader Bee when I see him.

i'd definitely be cool with that as well.

when all is said and done there should be more leader decepticon molds than autobot.

i'd like to see 7 constructicon leader class figures. each having a robot mode, an alt mode, & a devastator component mode. man that thing would be massive. i know aliens would have to visit earth & take over hasbro for us to get that.. but it's fun to think about lol.

As much as a leader BB would be overexposure, I can totally see them doing it. And it'd probably be awesome - like HA BB, but bigger and without all the gappiness issues that come with a working interior.

my only problem with a leader bumblebee, besides that i'd rather have a different character, is that i'm sure it'll look incredible.. but it would throw scale out the window. bumblebee will be as large as prime. i know that if the figure looked great i'd have to pick it up. i guess i could display him on a different shelf. i just think it'd be nice to give one of the larger characters a larger mold.

I too would have liked a bigger Bonecrusher, but (like Blackout) will never happen.

I could easily see another new leader mold for 2010. While the first movie line only had three leader molds, it was preceded the following year by Animated (with three new leader molds in 2008). I doubt there'll be a new cartoon toyline in 2010 or that Universe will include anything above a voyager size class, so a fifth leader mold for ROTF isn't out of the question.

i don't believe that there will be another leader figure either.. but depending on how long they plan on making this line.. it could happen.. i mean.. we already have four when there's usually three.

a leader bumblebee wouldn't make sense. though peaugh seems to believe that there will be one after starscream.

a leader grindor would be cool and make a lot of people happy i'm sure.

a leader fallen would be nice.. leader prime megatron starscream & jetfire all look quite strange when standing next to the fallen.

i would definitely like to see a leader class blackout/grindor.

i doubt we'll ever see one.

but.. hasbro did say that we're going to see more new molds rather than a ton of repaints..

guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Actually, from a marketing standpoint at least, a leader class Bumblebee makes perfect sense. The scale and complexity of leader class figures, coupled with the electronics, makes them more costly to produce and they command a higher price point on shelves, which makes them less likely to sell when compared to the cheaper deluxe class figures. If Hasbro is going to sell two new leader molds nearly a year (or more) after the movie was in theaters (which means the hype will have died down) you can bet they're going to be characters who are going to appeal to kids and general audiences. Bumblebee and Starscream both have this aspect in their favor. As much as the fans (myself included) would love a leader Blackout/Grindor or Bonecrusher neither figure would (presumably) have much appeal outside the fandom.

As for The Fallen, I don't think there's enough mass in his design (his chest is really narrow, especially when compared to the other leader class characters' designs) for electronics. It doesn't help that he never transformed in the movie and has no officially recognizable alt mode, save for a barely-there alien jet (it makes no sense to have two jets on shelves at the same time, especially when kids and the general public are more likely to go for the recognizable F22 over a mess of robot parts claiming to be an alien jet fighter. I know I would).

It's almost maddening at how toyetic Blackout is, and how he's continually passed over for a leader figure. Bristling with weapons, some of which even pop out of hidden compartments, spinning blade gimmick, deployable minion, first Transformer to ever appear in the freaking movie, and an easy repaint in Grindor.

Agreed.

But Blackout/Grindor is a nobody. The only time he was a somebody was in the first 5 minutes of the first film, since he didn't come out then, he'll never get a Leader figure unfortunately. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif)

Unless Hasbro gives us the reach around and does as such, but I don't think they'd risk it.

Randy

So how does the hi-and-die Brawl fit into that equation? He doesn't even have the same name most of the time.

When Hasbro decided on a Leader Class Brawl, all the information Hasbro had to go on were some early bits and pieces of what the final Transformers film would become. And in those bits and pieces, Brawl was the centerpiece of the battle in Mission City. He seemed pretty important!

But now they've had two years, and a second appearance of the character model to work with, and they didn't even do anything but a straight repaint of the original crappy mold.

I HATE the idea of Leader Bonecrusher!

Because I'd have to buy it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif)

When did Hasbro learn that "Blackout" was going to make a very unimportant, low-profile appearance in the sequel, and why should they have cared?

Then why bother hauling the Blackout mold out from the vault and repainting it in the first place? The toy has none of the features the movie version did, and the movie version has none of the features the toy does, so who would miss him?

It's a lot cheaper than making a whole new mold by several orders of magnitude.

oh don't get me wrong.. i know exactly why they'd choose bumblebee.

i also know why we wouldn't get a fallen. i'd like too see a leader sized fallen.. made like a transformer (same type of plastic & what not) w/ a staff.. that doesn't transform.. and i KNOW that that is even ridiculous to think about.

but here's what i don't get. for the most part leader class figures are bought by adult/older collectors. i mean.. i haven't ever seen a kid with his parents get.. or even be interested in a leader class figure.. not to mention, in my area, there are still a ton of human alliance bumblebees.. which kids are obviously not buying either. so with that said.. what makes hasbro think that they'd be any more likely to move a leader class bumblebee.. why not make another leader mold that almost everyone wants. there are more older collectors out there, making their own money, willing to shell out $45 for a leader class figure than there would be little kids with parents willing to shell out $45.. especially when there are legends bumblebees, a bunch of different deluxe bumblebees, gravity bots bumblebees, & animated has their hydro-dive bumblebee coming out next year.

but i do understand what you're saying. i just think hasbros thinking is a little flawed.

i know that if they do release a leader class bumblebee i'll probably get it. i'm sure its transformation would be complex.. and hopefully his robot mode will be very accurate. but i know that there are a whole bunch of people out there who would buy a leader class grindor/blackout.. but not buy a leader class bumblebee.. i guess only time will tell.
