I have recently become very lucky when it comes to finding Transformers. Over the last three weeks I have gotten Walmart exclusive ROTF Skywarp and Ramjet for 17 dollars a piece plus a 10 dollar gift card, then I found Universe Inferno and Animated Skywarp after not seeing either after about 8-10 months. I then went to TRU and found the Insecticons and Perceptor. Yesterday I went to Walmart and ran across Masterpiece Skywarp....Awesome figure. I love them all, but I was also wondering which one's you all would take out of the box?

I found Robot Heroes Megatron and Rattrap last week for under $2 at TRU because (I guess) the packaging was so trashed. I never picked up that set for some reason and it was the only thing missing from my BW Megatron shelf, so that was my luckiest, most recent find.
I keep my Masterpiece Skywarp in the box because he looks better in it, and if he gets out he'll pull pranks (so say the tech specs) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) -------------------- http://whirlaway-pred.livejournal.com/

That's a whole lot of Skywarp! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-silverbolt.gif)
I would open all of them, and appreciate all the Skywarp goodness. I usually have good luck. Right now I'm on the hunt for MP Skywarp. Checked 5 Wal-Marts so far, and I've come up with Bagel. Randy -------------------- |

I'd take them all out of the boxes. That way the plastic fumes don't ignite a hurricane of awesome and destroy your house. Yeah, I don't know what I'm talking about either.
I've been looking for HA skids for months now with no luck. Other than that I'm pretty much caught up. -------------------- ![]() |

Target last week, saw their last ROTF Bruticus Maximus set on clearance for 20 bucks, ran it under one of those price checker things, and got it for $7.48!

I would say open Universe Inferno and MP Skywarp for sure.
Animated SW is pretty, but the mold is already suffering some degradation (I'm worried the Thundercracker - if we ever get him - will be worse still). Mine is displayed with his buds, but not played with. Perceptor and the Insecticons don't really fit anywhere in my collection, but the boxes display nicely. If you've got other G1 stuff out though, then go for it. I wouldn't buy the Voyager F-22 mold again if someone paid me, so the answer is clear there. Not that lucky, but pretty lucky. I sometimes stumble upon the more rare TFs when I hit a store and snatch'em up, and never see them again in stores, except maybe once or twice. I forget which figures they were, but it happens.
So far it's been HA Skids. Oh, wait, I think Classics Grimlock was the other. And I open ALL. Because, trust me, if you never, and disaster strkes, you would have wished you sunk your fingers into that plastic transformery goodness just once before oblivion. Tescoes have been selling Voyagers for half price lately. Got Stratosphere and the Mini-con 10-pack for 15euros each. Was first time I saw either in a shop too.
They also knocked a bit off the price of Basics. |

Galvaplex absolutely gave the best reason to open them all, so we shall see. Right now I have about 12 transformers that I have bought over the last 3 months that I have not opened. I'm not in a big rush, but I love Masterpiece Starscream so I think Masterpiece Skywarp will come out of his box pretty quickly.

Generally the only TF luck I have is bad, but this morning I got Walmart to match Toys R Us' half off Universe Ultras on their red Powerglide.
Was $30, price matched to $12.99. Score! |

Nicely done racerx, I wonder if all Walmarts would match this since it is a Walmart exlusive.

I had ok luck yesterday. Picked up Universe Onslaught and Silverbolt for about $13 each at the TRU sale, then found ROTF Long Haul for $17 at Aldis. Considering I've been trying to find him for a couple weeks now, both finding and saving a coupla bucks on him is good in my book. Also gets me caught up on wanted Voyagers for the time being, since I'm still very much on the fence about Stratosphere.
Maybe a shame that TRU didn't have any Powerglides, but at the same time, I'm don't heavily desire these molds, it was just a good price for figures I'm OK with and didn't have yet... |

I saw a HA Skids package at Wal Mart about a month ago, yay!
Deluxe Skids was in it. Boo! He's still there. -------------------- |

Nicely done racerx, I wonder if all Walmarts would match this since it is a Walmart exlusive. Just to be on the safe side, I did peel off the "Only at Walmart" sticker. I'd picked up the white one for my son yesterday at TRU. (IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v238/ghettocar/P1050946.jpg) |
