Megatron

Prime

I've got to say, that Megs looks much improved over the Photoshopped image from Hasbro.

Yes Megatron looks very awesome, evil, and scary. Much improved colors compared to the original toy and original photo of this version.

I'm lukewarm on that toy, but in those colors it makes me want it again.

Even Prime doesn't look that bad.

Okay, THAT Leader Megatron I *will* buy! I can't get over how much cooler he looks with this color scheme...the first one was just...bland. I can't think of a time I've found a black color scheme to look bad on a toy; I even opted for the all-black 25th Anniv. version of Snake Eyes.

Even Prime doesn't look as horrible as the first time we saw him, though I have no need for a new version of that mold after Robovision (Unless they do him as Nemesis or Magnus.) and the gray is still pretty unsightly.

That Megatron looks like some movie version of Botcon Megazarak.

Prime is just hilariously bad.

looks pretty good.

i would rather have them produce a more accurate version with more silver, some weathering, a few small cybertronian symbols, and a proper right arm.

but the scheme does look good.

"Final Defense." Sounds like a Zombie Prime to me, or "Right Before I Die" Prime.

Good enough: BUY. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-ironhide.gif)

Although I must admit, they should have done a battle-damaged remold like they did for Jazz moreso than a battle-damaged redeco. THAT would be a definite buy, and more appropriate.

Wow, Megatron looks fantastic. I don't really buy Leader repaints, though, and I prefer to own teh screen-accurate version, but still...nice.

Prime continues to make no damn sense.

With a Diffrent head, and maybe chaging the gray in vehicle mode to white; He'd look kinda like a Magnus.

Nice Megatron there, I'm kind of annoyed that he looks this good because I thought I'd be satisfied with owning only the first version. I really like how the red and orange stand out, and the combination of both the gray and the bronze for the robot parts actually add a lot of richness to the color scheme, with a really nice contrast between the various colors. I'll be tempted to pick him up, at least if he hits some kind of decent sale or clearance.

The Prime is still such a huge "pass". It's criminal that a mold that I thought was fairly good has been repainted into oblivion, each more bland than the last.

I'm surprised the Voyager Prime mold isn't swiss cheese by now.

Okay, Hasbro are you listening?

How many times are you going to repaint the Movie Voyager Optimus Prime mold (as Optimus Prime) before you break the mold and won't be able to give us a Nemesis Prime?

I think Hasbro is set with only recolor Movie Optimus Prime as Optimus Prime. This has become even more apparent as even characters like Skids, Mudflap, Sideswipe, etc are all getting recolored again as the same character. I doubt we'd see something like Cliffjumper again - without new parts like Swerve, Thrust, and Dead End.

I'm thinking Optimus Prime Black from the Amazon.jp DVD is the closest you'll get to Nemesis - which isn't very close.

i'd have to agree with you.. i wouldn't mind having a leader class battle damaged prime..

they could really focus on roughing up prime in robot mode, make sure parts are bent and missing..

but that would be too much of a remold rather than a repaint.. so we'll never see it.

but they are releasing prime again with this megatron repaint.. so i don't see why they don't just paint a ton of scuff marks, dirt.. maybe remold a couple small pieces.. that would've been real nice.

Really, same character toy repaints of the main cast have nearly been the rule from the start of the entire movieverse, with only a few exceptions like Cliffjumper, the Seekers, and I guess Grindor.

Besides, I'd hope that Hasbro would make the obvious move and use the Leader Optimus mold with the swords if we were going to get a Nemesis Prime. They could always just do a Nucleon Quest Convoy homage, to keep him an Optimus Prime but please the Scourge lovers as well. I'd buy it.

Man, that's a really nice looking repaint of Megs.

I just can't get into the figure's basic design though. That's as much the fault of the movie itself as the toy...I hate that spindly little left arm.

Whoa. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-bee.gif) That Megs looks great. Now if only Hasbro would do up the Voyager version in those colors... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif)

Meh on the umpteenth Voyager Prime.
