Considering that if, as Hasbro says, fall 2010 will bring us new Classics styled figures, then it stands to reason prototypes would be in the pipe by now.
Alternately, that could be a very well-executed not-quite-a-knockoff type figure from one of the fan outfits. Either way, dude. -------------------- |

Damn, that's some quality Scout toy right there.
Curious what he transforms into, and how he does it. Will we have a Universe Soundwave to accompany him/them and Ravage, now? -------------------- |

I'm thinking maybe this does not transform and is just a well articulated standard action figure.
Of course, if it could transform it would be great. I'm just not seeing how it can from the pic. -------------------- |

And there was much rejoicing! The open gaps on the inside of the thighs are pretty good indicators that this is an official release and not some fan made piece. It seems to be the sort of thing that Hasbro does, whereas fan companies tend to keep those areas filled in.
Seriously, though, this makes me all sorts of giddy. As for transformation, there are definitely transformy-looking panels that the shoulders are mounted on. I'm thinking he may just transform into a "tape" (pronounced: generic rectangle made of robot parts) like the Ravage that came with Hound does. The real question is, what colors is Hasbro going to make Frenzy and Rumble? Maybe they'll make a two pack with the names not clearly placed with either one just to frustrate fans. It's cool. and I like it. Hopefully this is the real thing.
On second look at the photo... the arms look very similar to Energon Signal Flare/Offshoot. -------------------- FEEDBACK THREADS

Hasbro always does Rumble as red, and Frenzy as blue, as it always was and always should be. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) Any way, F' YEAH THIS LOOKS F'ING SWEET!!!! Frumble's elbows are ball joints, Offshoot's are hinges, and if you look at the detail molding, it's completely different. Wow, nice!
This is totally an official release, based on the design elements. I'm thinking that it may combine with the other Frenzy/Rumble cassetticon, even if it's a repaint/remold. Maybe not. -------------------- ![]() |

I think it transform. Not just like G1 Ru/Fr but amusingly enough more like Soundwave. (IMG:http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/3820/thisr.jpg) I also wonder if this won't be closer to an Activator or a large Legend. It's fairly uncomplicated and the bulk mostly regards the articulation. -------------------- |

The hands to me look official. If they're the standard peg size does this put him at Basic/Scout size?

I'd definitely say it's Scout class, based on the fist holes. Looks like the feet flip up into the shin area, and it appears the chest opens up, probably to hide the head (there's a dog-legged seam there, and the lack of a hinge on the front makes me think the back opens out, rather than the front). Not sure where the arms would go.
Can't wait to see more of this guy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) -------------------- |

I really hope this is a Hasbro piece. And that Fall 2010 hurries up and gets here.

Nice looking, and looks more official than Fan made. I am going to put my guess behind him turning into some kind of speaker tower looking thing.
Also, if hasbro really wants to mess with us, release them in completely unrelated Deco as new characters, forcing us to buy multiples to kitbash hehe. -------------------- ![]() I join the bandwagon...why? |
