I was reading the wiki's page on toy swapping, and I saw this:

QUOTE(TFWiki)
The most bizarre report thus far was a painted piece of wood in a Transformers packaging.

Does anyone have any more information on this? It jalmost sounds too strange to be true.

This was added by me ages ago, and I read about it, I think, on Seibertron, who have a tendency to purge their forum archives, so I'm afraid the source is lost to the sands of time.

Other stories I read about were "Armada Jetfire with nothing but the chest plate inside the packaging" and "a broken up half of RID Ultra Magnus inside an Armada packaging".

The block of wood supposedly replaced a Cybertron Mudflap in his packaging.

His vehicle mode is remarkably similar to a blue block of wood (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif)

Yes, I heard it was Mudflap as well. Epic as he was, his presentation in the box was nothing short of epically bad. And thus, epic toy swap.

I also seem to recall some kind of hornets nest or something in place of a movie 1 toy.

I believe it was Universe Ironhide, but that was on ebay and a joke. Unless it also happened in the wild, which sounds great.

Sorry about that guiz, I really wanted that toy but all I had to trade was a hive of live hornets.

I thought it was fair.

Ah, ok, Universe. It's hard for me to think that Universe 2.0 came out last June already.

Now that I say it out loud OPTIMUS PINE sounds like a Transformers themed car air freshener.
