Hasbro's answers for Round 3 of the Q&A have rolled in!
1) How many Human Alliance figures are scheduled for the Revenge of the Fallen toy line? And when you decide to end the Revenge of the Fallen toy line, is there any chance that this fan-popular sub-line will continue? There are still plenty of human and not-so human characters that could use toys. Like Daniel with Arcee, Spike with Hot Rod, or Una and Chak with Transmetal Cheetor! QUOTE 1) Currently, we have announced five figures for the Human Alliance line, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Autobot Skids, Barricade and Mudflap. Outside of these announced figures, we are already investigating other characters and pairings that would make sense for the line. As a whole, humans have always played an important part within the Transformers fantasy, especially in the two live action films. With that in mind, we have tried to bring those relationships to life in toy form. We are eager to see what the reaction to the line will be and will base our future decisions on where this line goes based on these results. 2) After Perceptor and the Insecticons, how many other reissues are planned? Or if there are currently no plans for more reissues, but it's something that you'd like to look into in the future, which figures would you personally like to see reissued in the US market? QUOTE 2) Currently, there are no plans to release any other reissues at this time. However, we would always strongly consider any re-issues that Takara has previously done. 3) "Revenge of the Fallen" has brought with it a more adult-aimed Transformers, both in terms of toy complexity and the adult humor sprinkled generously throughout the movie. What will this mean for any future toys and fiction--including comics, toy bios and cartoons-- that Hasbro may have planned for the movie continuity? Would a movie continuity cartoon revert back to the more child friendly stories as we've seen with the past few years, or would it keep a flavoring of the adult themes that Michael Bay brought to the films? -------------------- |

I... don't really see how that's any different from what I just said? In that my gripe against the TFs being special has more to do than just storylines with Primus/Unicron and their wars. In that the mere act of the TFs being special colors and affects the types of interactions I mentioned even when the whole cosmic god war thing *isn't* being shown right at that point in time. Or to put it another way, those types of interactions make less or different sense if the TFs are at all cosmically special, even if that cosmic specialness is just a background backstory thing. |
