Props to Lonegamer for noticing this.

I think it's pretty cool that, for perhaps the first time EVER (that I know of), a Japanese publisher has sought out Western Transformers fiction talent and employed them to produce some Japanese-exclusive material. I know that several Western Transformers comics have been imported by Japanese publishers (sadly, that includes Dreamwave), but this is the first I've heard of one of them actually paying attention to those involved in the Western Fiction, contacting them and hiring them to write and draw some stuff strictly for their market.

Of course, this was all done at the behest of Million Publishing and not Takara, so who knows if they care what's going on in the Western Transformers comics...

Still, pretty cool. And Furman's gonna post his original English script once the comic is released, so TFPulp won't have to reverse translate it. ; )

A bit of hope, I suppose for the reading realm of TF. I do have to wonder how the translation will go through for Japanese readers, other than the imports from Dreamwave and IDW. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

Now how funny would the script look like if we translated it back to English from Japanese? :3

It circles overhead, like a winged, hunting avian of menace. Let us feed this thing until it feels physically uncomfortable to an extent which it has not previously experienced! It is done! Completed! SHEEEUUURRRRK. It is the hour at which stage it will be necessary for me to no longer be present!

Meh, we already know what the script will include, so it's not like we need to wait to see it. Just use the Furman Formula, and figure out the script before it's even published! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif)

Now should we translate "DERYAAAAAAAAA!" or leave it as it is? And then there's the Japanese onomatopoeia... Those are always FUN. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif)

OH man, now we gotta do more Japanese overly-formal Furmanisms.

"No! You've expired! I previously witnessed it!"

"I have no outstanding wish to continue the act of breathing indefinitely."

"More beneficial to do battle and expire afterward, than continue my current span of existence with awareness that I moved swiftly!"

"What opportunity do we possess at the moment?"

"We are merely... items beyond the necessary quantity!"

I am horrible at this.

I'm still wondering if there is another exclusive figure to this magazine.

Fixed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif)

If there is, not mentioned or teased in volume 2, or we'll find out in July.

Can we please stop with this "the Japanese" stuff already? Seriously, what is that even about? Why do we conflate the producers of Transformers materials in Japan with the entire country? I find it... creepy and icky.

Eh, just a bit harmless fun on "translating" Furmanisms to Japanese and then back, due to how Japanese is linguistically structured.

Although it does become a bit much, I'll admit. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif)

I believe Kil is referring not to our linguistic larks, but to the use of the phrase "the Japanese" to refer to Takara/Million/the Japanese production company staff, as if they were representative of an entire race.

It is a situation lacking in a moment of cessation!

Touche, and probably no different how US or UK is "represented" by other things as perceived by other countries.

Begs the question on how Simon's going to tie things up following Ghost Starscream meeting Megatron since volume 2 in just two pages...

We simply require, for the art of national sensitivity, a lesson of brief length and well-honed edge.
