Not too fond of Saturday release dates, since I'm usually spending time with my girlfriend and can't just hop on the subway during my lunch break to go buy them like I can on weekdays. Ah well, Amazon.co.jp is pretty good at getting them to me.

I got mine yesterday (I opted for slow shipping this time).
I am a huge fan of the red & silver Alternity Convoy, and the black version doesn't disappoint in car mode. In robot mode though, he's way too much black and dark gray. There isn't much difference in the two colors, and there are a lot of parts that are painted black that could have been colored another color to break him up more. The teal is very bright, but it's so bright compared to everything else it's a bit jarring. I still like him a lot, for his car mode I feel is the best of the 3 versions, but the robot is my least favorite. If I were to rank them from best to worst I'd go Silver, Red, and Black. With Silver and Red being closer to each other than the Black is to Red. Though my opinion of the Black version may improve as I spend more time with him. As for Megatron. Megatron is very nice, and his transformation is similar to Convoy's without being a direct copy. The swords stow underneath the car mode, and can be sheathed on the side of Megatron's legs (like the new Movie G.I. Joe figures do with some of their weapons). The car mode is nice, and the silver is more of a gray than I initially thought. The silver is very much G1 Megatron colors, which is nice, but I prefer the blue here. The silver is very monochromatic, with the only real color being the car lights, the sides of his abdomen, and his eyes. The blue has obviously the blue, some purple, some gold, and some black (as all these replica car Transformers do), and the red lights and eyes. The helmet is black too (Marvel Comic fans rejoice). The swords on both figures look cool, with silver having silver blades and the blue with gold. Megatron also has forearm blades similar to Convoy's forearm blasters. My only issues with Megatron, is I feel his lower legs are too empy looking from all sides but the front, note that I also had issue with Convoy's lower legs (but his was mainly due to how hard it was to get exactly right). Megatron's face is also not my favorite design, but still nice enough. So I recommend these figures as I think they're a lot of fun and very poseable and solid. One last note, there's been some question as to how poseable Megatron's legs are. They're very poseable, and easily fit around the front samurai skirt area. The skirt also flips up if you desire to pose his legs closer together. Randy -------------------- |

And yeah all the pics i have seen the silver looks more like Platinum Graphite and not Blade silver. Half the reason i got a PG 370z was to make it a Megatron influenced car. Megatron is the Japanese Blade Silver (which is not the same as their or our Brilliant Silver). It's closer to Graphite Gray in the US. Is this color exclusive to Japan? Randy -------------------- |

That Jazz makes me a sad panda (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif) I hope Alternity continues, I'd buy both colors of Jazz provided they do the same thing with people other than Optimus and Megs. A Runamuck with a Runabout repaint would be cool too. Man, hopefully this is an actual line and not where it is just Optimus and Megs.
