Breakaway is my new favorite mold of the RoTF figs but after seeing the game art, I felt he needed some tweaks. Here's a somewhat easy fix for your Breakaway to get him looking more like his game art. I found the landing gear kept his upper body/nosecone from moving all the way down and the front windshield needs to be carved underneath, the back of his head too so he can tilt forward. Also, acetone the top and front of his lightpipe eyes and they'll shine clear blue again.

Wow. That concept art just confirms that Primus has it out for the guy.

In a neat way, though. Still, can't be comfortable.

And here's one to keep Sideswipe's chest from unlatching constantly. You just need to create some pressure by sticking something about the thickness of a playing card or two in the gap where the windshield folds down against his back, thus jutting the chest forward a bit and the latch works.

Where do you get a strip of plastic the thickness of a playing card? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-blitz.gif)

Styrene strips by 'Plastuct' used in scratchbuilding at my local hobby shop. Or just trim down a GI Joe belt, shave off a piece of plastic from something, use a strip of craft lace...or even glue a strip of actual playing card on there. Heheh.

Thanks, Jin! That bit on Sideswipe was my biggest issue with him! I'll have to try to fix it.

thickness of a playing card you say? Hmm, I think the bubble plastic that's wrapped around the new deluxes will work.

I'm gonna have to try that on Sideswipe, thanks Jinn.

For Sideswipe, you could probably use the plastic from the bubble he came in (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

I tweaked Knock-out some. Nothing major, just added some super glue gel in the socket his leg plates slide into. Let that dry, then they snap in place solid like they should instead of popping out all the time.

B26:
We were all mad with jealousy that you had movie Transformers on Friday. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

I read it, but I don't have Breakaway, so I had nothing to add. I still don't know if I'm totally on board with his chestheadedness, although I love the nervous-looking facesculpt.
