1) - The press release posted on Hasbro.com just prior to Toy Fair indicated that there would be 10 Deluxe figures for Universe in 2009. 8 of those figures have been made public (Cheetor, Cyclonus, Hound, Starscream, Dinobot, Smokescreen, Hot Shot and Ratchet), leaving 2 unknown figures. Is there any chance that you can elaborate what these two figures are, or if one of them will be Red Alert, similar to Takara Tomy's release schedule with Henkei?

Hasbro: Unfortunately, the press release prior to Toy Fair regarding Universe Deluxe was incorrect. For 2009, there will only be 8 Deluxe figures (Cheetor, Cyclonus, Hound, Starscream, Dinobot, Smokescreen, Hot Shot and Ratchet).

2) - What are your plans for the Legends and Robot Heroes sublines? Will we see additional lower-tier/obscure characters, old favorites, etc in the future? Also, will Mighty Muggs be back after the TF2 movie line?

Hasbro: In 2009, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen product we be featuring the core movie characters as well as some ancillary characters throughout all of the assortments, including Legends and Robot Heroes.

3) - Several characters who were a big part of the classic Marvel TF comics have (for a variety of reasons) ended up with their rights belonging to Marvel rather than Hasbro. The original Death's Head (a major player in many of the best UK stories) and Circuit Breaker (a major player in the US comics run) being prime examples. It's just recently been announced that Hasbro has secured the Marvel liscense for the next few years and you've just launched the great looking 3 3/4 Marvel Universe figure line. Is there any chance you could put your heads together for a few toys of these classic TF fan favorite characters, now that they are legally possible at long last? Or at least pass their names along to the Marvel-team folks as possibillities?

Hasbro: We certainly appreciate these characters and what they have brought to the Transformers. However, they are not at the top of the character list at this point in time. As with anything, there is always a chance that we will revisit these characters at some point in time, it just unfortunately is not now.

Wait a minute. Do not associate this thing in the picture with any delicious food. As a matter of fact, it is even inedible. It is a pair of shorts with meat pattern printed on it. Next time you go to supermarket for meat, you should be careful. Shorts are not delicious even though they come with meat patterns.

Not surprised that there are no plans (that they can reveal) about a Universe Red Alert.

Sigh. Well that's a bunch of money I'm saving so far. Hope some of the other answers are more interesting/encouraging for folks who don't care much for or about the movie toys. Not that likely probably... but one can hope.

I wonder if that means they were wrong about the remaining number of figures in other lines too. *cough* (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-op.gif)

Okay so...

#1 - No news.

#2 - No news.

#3 - No news.

Riviting so far Hasbro. :-(

The TF club just posted their answers and they are equally riviting.

To Paraphrase:

1. Q. Will they release the last wave of Universe Robot heroes in 2009?
A. No plans.

2. Q. Is animated ending.
A. We cannot speak of it.

3. Q. Will we see any homages to Energon, Machine Wars or Beast Machines in the Universe line?
A. Anything is possible.

Seibertron.com has their answers up here:

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/new...uestions/15360/

The gist of them is that there will be some G1 inspired redecos in the movie line, but they won't tell us specifics. They may or may not make a Drift figure when the time is right. There will be some ANimated season 3 character toys released in 2009, but again no specifics. Probably the best set of answers so far.

Seibertron's Q&A is now up:
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/new...uestions/15360/

QUOTE
1.) Can we expect more store exclusive Generation 1 repaints of movie figures like the new Corvette Sideswipe into Generation 1 colors? Any hints to drop for us on which characters will receive Generation 1 style repaints (Devastator?). Can we expect premium style repaints with the ROTF line of figures as well?

2.) Recent confusion with IDW's and HASBRO's answers gives us conflicting information. Will IDW's character Drift be getting his own toy, or not? Would it be a part of UNIVERSE or some other special line? How about other comic original characters getting toys like Impactor or Jhiaxus, which are not repaints? In the back of the Transformers Spotlight Vol 2 Graphic Novel, there is a great design for Nova Prime, which could be made as a toy, any chance of it being made?

3.) Will there be toys of these new Season 3 TF: Animated Characters? What of the rumor that Season 3 is the last season of Animated? Any hints on what is the next on tap after the ROTF line is done, with the supposed end to Transformers Animated?

I love their Drift answer. It's like "uh... we didn't have any plans to give him a toy, but, hey, if you guys want one..."

Season 3 Characters getting toys? Very nice. Very nice indeed.

We know about Blackout and possibly Rodimus, but who else could come? Strika and Spittor aren't very toy friendly, there was a Cyclonus not too long ago...

My bets are on Dai Atlas, Perceptor, Wheeljack, and MAYBE Grandus.

Yep, unlike AHM, Drift is the best part of these things.

Can't wait for Ryall's response. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif)

Bummer. I was really hoping they'd finally comment on bringing MP Grimlock to the US this year.

Huh...

Best way to have Hasbro make a toy of a comic origin character...

Say they are producing it, and when they get asked about it, they'll take it under the implication that the character is popular {rather than the most literal meaning...}

and therefore end up making the toy of the character.

That answer sounds like they're shopping it around as a store exclusive and waiting to see who bites.

That falls apart as soon as someone mentions to Hasbro, "we're curious because IDW said you guys were making a Drift".

Hmm... Weird that they seem to say Classic Wheeljack is planed for the "near future". I mean that's awesome, but I didn't think there'd be ANY Classics in the near future, at least till the end of 09 or 2010. Though I suppose winter 2009 might meet the definition near. If they do him he's a must buy and they SO need to do Trailbreaker and Jazz (not happy he's not being discussed yet) at the same time so we can begin to finish up the last of original the 84 Bots.

hmmm... They can't make a Soundwave because "kids" today won't know what a cassette player is? They made Ravage, he's a cassette. So kids know what cassettes are, but not cassette players? Kids are REALLY stupid according to Hasbro.
