I work in a Best Buy warehouse (glamorous, I know).
Well, Best Buy will recycle any piece of electronics equipment you drop off, so long as it is smaller than a 32 inch TV. Well, I've had to trash a LOT of classic video game consoles, many in pristine condition. Sega Genesises, Super Nintendos, PS1s... Once, a guy brought in his Commodore 64 computer. Keyboard, console, monitor, the whole shebang. Had to trash all of it. At this very instant (I'm typing this from my work computer), I am staring at an NES Action Pack. The original box, styrofoam inserts, all the equipment, wires, accessories and even the original plastic baggies they all came in. And I have to trash it. Employees aren't allowed to keep anything people bring in for recycling, and the management stands firm on that (corporate offices have pointed this out specifically, qualifying any recycle equipment taken home by employees as theft). So we have to destroy it. Maaaaaaaaan. Last week, somebody brought in a functioning BetaMax. I have a jillion Beta tapes at home that I haven't been able to watch in years since my BetaMax broke. Had to throw it away. Anyway, yeah. I get to smash an NES tonight. -------------------- Hey, check out one of my sites!
