As explained on the Botcon Page

May the 28th to the 31st, early in the year like last year but a tad later than last year, more info later.

Think you'll attend? Think you won't? Discuss!

As for me, Pasadena's a tad further away than I'd wish, but I'll see what I can do.

won't be going this year. waaay to far out for me to drive, and flying's a no no for me.

Kind of a shame, now SDCC and Botcon will both be west coast this year. kinda rough on the east coast and midwest collectors.

California's way out of my budget, so...

I'll be going to TFCon in April, and perhaps might be willing to drop a bit more money there since Botcon's not feasible.

...nuts.

Well, I'm not going this year. Not much in the way of funds, and as exciting as it would be to fly to Pasadena alone for the 'Con, I think I'm not going to have to skip.

Which stinks, but there we are.

Oh well - the last few years of toys have held little interest in me. With luck, history will repeat itself.

Too many DC-LA flights to not at least consider it. I might have to make it my Tax Return splurge this year.

What's this? I can DRIVE to BotCon? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-silverbolt.gif)

Cutting it awfully close to Finals. I know for sure I'll be able to make it, but hopefully this won't depress turnout.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do believe this is the biggest F?#k up that FP has made to date since they took over run botcon. I guess that they want to learn for themself why botcon has only every been on the west coast 2 times before.

WARNING, WARNING,WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!! As it stand as of 5:15 am on the east coast on the 25th of December. For those that do plan on attending Since this shocking turn of events has come into light. I have received many phone calls , and emails as of now, I know of 6 dealers, Myself included that WILL NOT be getting their booths for the 09 botcon show. That counts up to 11 booths that WILL NOT be on the dealers floors. The main reason for most of us is shipping of the items we have. We do not do this as our main jobs, just a side part time job type of deal. Also I received an email from one of the larger dealer that is UNSHORE if they will be going. With out going into to much details I was asked if I was getting my booth. If I was not would I be able to help him set up if He gets his booths. As he can not play his helpers plane tickets and hotel bills.

Only good side of things as it stand for now MegaMus And myself (Gen1fan) will still host the parts party. This year plan on us having longer hours. As for myself I plan on going thought my items and only taking those items that I believe will sell. MAINLY g1 toys, and parts. Please check my sale tread if there something there u see from any line I need to now so I can pack it up for u.

Maybe... Personally, I was expecting this to happen again eventually. I WAS hoping it wouldn't happen just yet though... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif)

Do you have the same disorder as tech, or is that rage overriding your spelling?

Ah well. Regardless of how the con' turns out, I'm still going to try and make it there, and it'll just mean a whole lot less to worry about as far as the dealer room, both because of storage limitations, and fewer dealers / dealer room merch.
I think I'm going to try and just buy convention exclusives and try and cover my air fare. :S Can they insure your luggage, or are you basically gambling on convicted felons swiping your stuff?

I think the era when dealers could really make or break a Botcon is long since over. If people REALLY need toys they can use the online stores. Seriously, we were told that allegedly none of the Western dealers would show up in Rhode Island for '07, and maybe they didn't, but who cares? It was a dealer room. There will always be dealers. If some can't go, others will.

This figures! They have so many cities they could pick for Botcon and yet again they choose a location that is so far that a great number of fans cant make the trip. I could go but im not going to. I dont want to fly and have better things to do than spend 2 days on the road to to look at the over priced exclusives that they make you buy either all or nothing and lack of anything fun to do! I liked the con way better when 3H was in control! You could afford the toys, the hotel and could travel pretty easy to each location and in my opinion have more fun!

I dunno, I don't think it's fair to always put Botcon on the east coast. West Coast fans who don't have a lot of travel money deserve a chance to go as well. 3H put their last BotCon in California, and I know that whenever the Gathering of the Gargoyles is in California, they're able to get a lot more voice actors to come as guests because it's less cost to get them there since so many live relatively close.

I love that they're committed to moving it around. Sure, everyone can't go to every con, but with RI one year, OH the next and CA the next, lots of people all over the country have an easier time at least going to one of them.

In my case, it happened to work out that I was in NYC in 2007 and I'll be in LA in 2009, so I can go to two of them without flying. This one, I won't even need a hotel. Awesome.
