As much as id hate to see 'em go...i think the Briscoes are pure awesome and could potentially lead the WWEs tag division back to something that matters... You're assuming that Vince would want to rebuild the tag division. If the Briscoes go anywhere, I'd like it to be TNA. They may not get used properly there, but at least TNA has a tag division for them to work. -------------------- |

Kind of like there wasn't a tag team match as the main event on Raw featuring two actual tag teams, one of which is the Undisputed Tag Champs...hey!

DX isn't a full time team and Jerishow are just thrown together to try and keep the tag titles legit. Then you have The Round Table, Cryme Tyme, and The Hart Dynasty. Once DX breaks up again (which should be soon) and Jerishow implodes, where is the "division" left? -------------------- |

Ted and Cody are set to break up soon, since I think Ted has a face turn coming up. -------------------- |

Or WITH Cody to turn the Legacy face and kick Randy out Nation-style.

I'm not a wrestling fan, but I loved Mick Foley's appearance on the Daily Show tonight. Fantastic stuff. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-ironhide.gif)

Which Cole comments were "stupid," exactly? I honestly don't remember.

So, a little news. Prior to last nights Smackdown tapings guess who had a tryout match? None other than Ring of Honor's own The Briscoe Brothers! They both should remain under contract to ROH right now, but were given permission to do the tryout. This could be eerily similar to American Dragon, you'll remember he did an approved tryout six months or so before WWE signs him. Should be a no brainer, The Briscoes are the best tag team on the Indy circuit who have any prayer of translating to WWE. As much as I love the Young Bucks, the best WWE would come up with would be Marty Jannetty as their manager as The New New Rockers. lol So you want to see the Briscoes get screwed? The WWE doesn't have enough tag teams, let alone a division. In some Chikara news, the effort to save Dasher Hatfield got an unexpected supporter. Dasher Hatfield! Dasher himself has joined the cause to keep him from getting deleted at the end of the season. Now the question is: will Quackenbush hear the fans? Um, I'd like to see the Briscoes get 3 or 4 years of WWE paychecks so they can actually have decent health insurance when their bodies start cashing the checks they've been writing. If Mark isn't in a wheelchair in ten years, maybe there is a god... But I guess I'm the type to hope for the better. Right now the WWE tag team division is about as strong as it's been in a decade, at least. Jerishow have made the tag belts so important even DX wanted a shot at them. If Cody turns with Ted, Legacy vs Jerishow could be money. And I don't expect Jerishow to break up instantly when they drop the belts for the first time. I'd like to see a few new teams added to take it to even another level. The Briscoes would be perfect. I'm a tag team wrestling fan. WWE puts 6 hours of programming on TV every week. 3 times as much as they next competitor. I kind of have to hope that they're waking up and giving it more respect. It wasn't always like this, Vince in the past certainly enjoyed making money off of the Hart Foundation and the British Bulldogs. If he starts smelling money again, they'll be pushed accordingly. EDIT: News & Notes time. The next 4 guest hosts of Raw are Jesse Ventura, Vern Troyer (mini-me), Mark Cuban, and Dennis Miller. Hopefully the HDNet owning Cuban plugs ROH. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) . And, sigh, looks like we're only going to get a week of no Hornswoggle. Unless they don't do the obvious with him and Vern. So, The Rock is talking about working with WWE. Awesome. According to this TNA did another round of drug testing at the most recent Impact! tapings. Warning, there's a mild TNA storyline spoiler in there too. If Mark isn't in a wheelchair in ten years, maybe there is a god... I understand the concern for Mark Briscoe, but given Vince's history, the Briscoes will be jobbed to Cryme Tyme for most of those 3 to 4 years. QUOTE But I guess I'm the type to hope for the better. That's a sad statement about the WWE tag division, when you consider its 7 teams, 4 of those only temporary. What's even sadder is the fact that the WWE could solve a lot of its problems with what to do with its under used talent if it started rebuilding its tag teams. They could easily boost the division up to 10 to 12 teams, and get some nice, natural pairings out of it. QUOTE I'm a tag team wrestling fan. Don't forget the Hardy Boys, The Dudleys, and the Brood/Edge and Christian. From what's been said as of late however, no one in WWE management is really concerned with tag team wrestling. Unless that changes, don't get your hopes up. -------------------- |
