That's right, we are now down to under 100 Seacon sets for sale. If you have been waiting, wait no longer! Order now and of course, be sure to pick up a Nightbeat while you are at it...

Also, we will be releasing the Nightbeat profile art and a couple other cool images via our Deviant Art page later today.

They sold much better than I expected for the price. Which is good for the club, but not so good for the customers, since the higher prices were proved justified.

I know I'm still very torn on this.

It's a very cool looking set. VERY cool.

But that is a pretty high price in the end for an old toy, many of which I've been scaling back on.

By the time I decide, they'll probably be sold out. Which is probably better with everything else I need to be paying for these days...

They are. They've said that they had 1500 made.

I'd like to have these, but for me the price is not justified. I'm glad they are available for those who want them, though.

I have a feeling that these may have sold even better a few years back - there's just so much product available now that it's hard to financially make room for the high-end stuff, especially when it's just late G1 repaints.

Considering how much the God Neptune repaint goes for, which was a regular release in Japan under their BW era, I'm thinking the club repaint is going to trump that in terms of rarity and price down the line. 1500 sets really isn't that much when you think about it.

And speaking as someone who owns the set, it's worth every penny.

I really want to get this badly. But I absolutely can't justify this amount of money. I barely got away with getting the City Commander set.

Congrats Pete! If you're down to 100/1500 you've done exceptionally well and certainly proved my know it all ass wrong. I really thought with the price you all would have a hard time moving them.

Sadly I'll be missing out on them, darn it, forget about a Middle Class Taxcut. We need a Transformers Fan Taxcut so I can afford all the crap I want. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif)

Perhaps we can pass it off as a handout to Hasbro. They seem to not mind welfare when it's Corporate!

I absolutely, honestly thought the Seacons would not sell in those numbers at that price, and that they'd fill up the warehouse and keep us from getting more new Club exclusives later. I'm pretty happy to have been completely wrong. Congrats, Pete!

Well this kinda sucks. I was hoping to be able to afford them for christmas or birthday after joining the club and making the price more reasonable. But now, they might be gone before I can get them... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif)

Folks:

I went over and searched completed Ebay listings for complete G1 Seacon sets, and after that the club's price didn't seem so high. Still more than I am willing to pay, so no sale, but if you want Seacons and all their little kibble bits, they don't seem to come cheap. The appeal seems understandable, anyway. They're cool little monsters. I have a battered thrift-store Tentakil on my monitor at work. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

It's nice that people can get Seacons at the same time Galvatron is available, or at least one of the Galvatrons.

but why are they still listed as a pre-order if they've already started shipping and are almost gone? i want to order these with nightbeat and 2 other things from the store, but i don't want to have to pay for separate shipping if something gets screwed up cause they're listed as pre-orders

You may have a point but the God Neptune set would have been more recent (rather than 10 years ago) and people might not have been as interested. Plus there are more fans than ever now.

Same here. But its good that they've far exceeded expectations and are selling quite well... more for us to buy in the future. (Maybe, if we can afford it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif) )

I am glad this exclusive did so well for the club. I think it was great of the club to take an exclusive that stores had passed on and make it a club exclusive so that fans would have a chance to own it, instead of letting it be relegated to the endless purgatory of "might've been."

(For the record: I didn't buy it. I'm not that interested in the Seacons. But Fun Pub has done other stuff that I was all over, so it's good for there to be different things to appeal to different people.)

way to go fanclub (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-ironhide.gif)
I got mine in mail last friday. They are worth every penny of what i paid.
Its been since RID that we've a had a g1 combiner mold pulled back out.
I hope we can get more like these guys out of the club in future.

The only downside is that when Bruticus was pulled back out the Chinese ko companies went to town spitting out every form of a g1 combiner they could. I want to know how long before we start seeing low quality KO's of these guys everywhere
