The only complaints I recall were that being packaged in truck mode in that Voyager box made him look tiny, but the semicab vehicle modes tend to compact down quite a bit during transformation. But, I don't really see where you're getting that Prime is particularly more simple for his size than Jetfire. The transformation is certainly more complex than Jetfire, and Prime is at least as well articulated, just for a start.

Also keep in mind that it's an Australian fan site reporting that. You know? Where the world send its convicts and Nemesis Prime repaints that they don't want to deal with anymore?

NV:

SO, clearly, I cannot trust the news in front of me?

I can't tell if that's sarcasm.

Austraila is the place that had piles of Alt Nemesis Prime and Alt Rodimus in regular retail stores.

Yeah, there's a Katamari-like ball of them that rolls up and down the coast from time to time.

Hmm...Hasbro must be conspiring against my limited funds...

Kidding! Kidding!

...in all seriousness, Overkill and Drag Strip. With any luck, I'll score Wildrider sometime soon to give Drag Strip a little company.

You wanna explain to me how Classics Prime isn't really Voyager size? I seem to have missed that memo.

QUOTE(Rosicrucian @ Sep 22 2008, 07:10 PM) *
...he's about the size of every other Voyager out there. It's not his fault it all folds up into a relatively small truck cab.

I guess I'm alone then? I always thought he was small for a voyager, and I seem to remember others saying the same when he came out. Now, he's a sweet toy - I had no qualms paying $20 for him. Then when he came in a two pack for $20, with another Deluxe (both in robot mode), cemented it in my mind. Plus, compared to Jetfire and the repainted Voyagers for the classics line, he feels more and more like he should be a deluxe.

This is going to get to one of those "Its about plastic, not height" arguments, isn't it?

Anyway, to your claims that Optimus should be a deluxe, I submit to you: Animated Lockdown

Optimus is a Voyager. A rather small Voyager, but a Voyager all the same. He cannot be magically made into a deluxe. The Nemy Prime from the article? It'll be the Deluxe Prime redecoed into Nemy colours

In fact, Dragstrip prompted me to take a look at the Japanese exclusive Wildrider (in hopes of maybe putting together a team of Stunticons). Boy, is that thing bleh.

Oh really?

Yeah, really.
I like those pics you posted. They aren't actually of Henkei Wildrider, unfortunately.

As for the toy that was actually released, I already have Shattered Glass Hot Rod, thanks.

When you say it's not actually Wildrider, do you mean that as in not the stock Wildrider or not WIldrider at all? It is WIldrider, just a modified version of it.

And most importantly, he's more or less the same size in bot mode as Classics Voyager Megatron.

Question for anyone who ordered these or have preordered on the site before. Will they charge you when you place your order or when it ships?

Nah - just that when I saw pics of the toy, and now that I've owned the mold 3 times - if I knew nothing about the toy, and you showed it to me, let me fiddle with it, I would've guessed he was a deluxe.

And I'm using the 2 pack of Target as an example that they have sold him for cheaper than a voyager. And given that they still have over 2300 Nemesis Prime's at HTS.com, I could see them looking for another way to offload some stock. That's all.

I was just saying that what was released looks very little like the photoshop and very much like SG Hot Rod.
I wasn't nearly as enthralled with the Wildrider deco we got as I was with the photoshop you posted (I seem to remember that showing up a good while back and loving it). The Wildrider we got looks way too much like Shattered Rodimus to warrant purchase. I'd much rather customize one with the lighter gray and additional red in the arms..

Great. There goes my chance at getting them for a reasonable price.

Compared to club exclusives, these are quite reasonable....

Plus, you can use discount codes here (FP hasn't got anything like that, yet).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't HTS America only? In which case, those of us outside it are left out in the cold. The Club is at least worldwide

You're from Australia? Then you got it sweet here. According to Ozformers or whatever, these things are Australian exclusives which will be available to the US only through HTS. So.

I'm somewhat disappointed that Megatron didn't have his G2 Hero colors used instead of the usual stuff.
And y'see, that I'd buy!
QUOTE(Spark @ Sep 22 2008, 06:00 PM) *
But as has been said by others, I think this Megatron is sort of a "compromise" redeco since the original Classics Megatron didn't carry the first G1 color scheme.
Perhaps. I guess for me it's just that my hunger for G1 Megatron is being most excellently slaked by Animated. Wyatt got me there. A Battlestars homage? It's crazy!

I think the original looks G2 enough for me. Wouldn't really need him in green/purple as well:

(IMG:http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/3272/g2megatronoa8.jpg)

Normally, I'm a sucker for G1 colored Megatrons, but like you said, I've been receiving plenty of those thanks to Animated (Henkei Megatron as well).
Now, a G2 Hero Megatron deco, I would be all over that one!

Wildrider really needed to not have Rodimus's flames everywhere. If he didn't, he'd look a lot more like Wildrider and a lot less like Black Hot Rod.

Actually, it would be good if these were non-US exclusives, for countries like ours to have something worth trading back to the US fans for a change.

What, Energon Magnus and Beachcomber, and Primus w/Unicron head, weren't enough? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif) Oh right, almost forgot Alternator Nemesis...
