You really need to work on your anatomy. I would spend time sketching arms in various positions. Concentrate on how the muscles move the arms.

Wolverine seems very disconnected at the neck and also at the thigh. His far arm needs some size and a palm possibly.

Iceman also seems disconnected at the right shoulder. Also the position of his right arm wouldn't be that comfortable.

Colossus is ok as far as spacial connection goes, but he needs some anatomy work.

Cyclops. I'm not sure where to start. His hands need to be redone. His left knee looks to be disconnected. He also seems to have a broken shin poking out from the side of his leg. The upward looking facial shot is a difficult one to get, so kudos on trying. Remember when you look up, your jaw line looks up too.

Do you draw guidelines before you start drawing?

these look kinda cool. Drawing human bodies is tough, but like said above, you need to really study and know how the body works and how it's built. it's a machine with all interworking parts and muscles. for example, if the lowerarm is bent, the upper arm will change. without a live model you need to know in your mind how it would change, and apply that to your drawing, otherwise it isn't believable looking.

Also, try squinting when applying your shading. that always works for me. some of the areas have light coming from the top left, and in the same piece there is shade on that angle also. For example, wolverine's light seems to be coming from the top left, so his head/shoulders should create a shadow on his left leg.

Wolverine- which thigh/leg. Our right?

iceman-you saying it should a tad higher up? Yeah i need to lower it more which will help.

Colossus-never hurts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

Cyclops- Yeah i plan on redoing the hands. they are just awful. Shin? which leg? I have been having a lot of issues with bent knees. So i have been working on them.

Guidelines as in stick figure?

yeah, it's always best to start with a proportionate stick figure, then add the basic shapes. Then add the muscle, then the details...

something like this

Wolverine's right thigh(closest to us). Iceman should be lower, or show a presence of an upper arm just behind the deltoid. Cyclops' left leg.

Like F_R posted, fill your sketchbook with "stick figures". Don't worry about details like clothing, faces, hands. Just draw flailing limbs. Have one drawing lead your mind to another, i.e. you draw a figure with a little amount of weight on the right leg, draw your next figure placing all of its weight on the right leg. Fill up 2-3 pages with figures and then pick a pose out of the "thumbnails" and draw that full size. Don't shade it just yet.
