So they haven't gotten rid of that irritating kid yet? Damn. If you're talking about Bumblebee, no. If you're talking about Sari: Come on, lay off her. She's the best human character we've had in one of the toons. Even the comics. And she pulls more weight on the team than any of the other humans have, ever. As for this news: I WANT THOSE TOYS ALREADY! Especially Red Alert. -------------------- RIP Libby - Died June 1st, 2012

Even as a kid, I never understood or enjoyed the irritating self-insertion characters they'd put in these cartoons. Why are giant robots from another world hanging around an unsupervised 8 year old? Why do they let her keep a super-powered key that makes machines do wacky jive? Even as the "best" human character we've ever had in the cartoons, Sari's still abrasive and painful to watch or listen to. If they had her killed by an errant energy blast or something it might provide the kiddies the most poignant lesson about death since Code of Hero from Beast Wars. -------------------- HAI.

The Autobots eventually came to value Sparkplug's mechanical skills and Spike's ingenuity, especially when coupled with Chip's know-how. 1985: Raul just kinda happened to be in the right spot at the right time; he also had the guts to stand up to the Decepticons. Carly was Spike's main squeeze and so they tolerated her. 1986 - 1987: Spike and Carly are now diplomats, so their little brat warrants security protection. 1988: Cancer was Giga and Mega's adopted son, with the other two being his hooligan friends. Metalhawk apparently felt responsible for Shuta, while Minerva and Cab ended up in the middle. 1989: Jean was legally adopted by Saber. 1990: Kain got his planet wiped out, and Akira was also apparently caught up in things. 2000: The Autobots apparently felt responsible for Koji since his dad was kidnapped by the Predacons. 2002: Like it or not, the three kids did activate the mini-cons and do have a rapport with the little fellows. As such, Prime tolerated them for the sake of the mini-cons. 2004: Kicker could actually hold his own in a fight provided that he wasn't going emo, and had the gall to stand up to Alpha Q. Misha was both Dr. Jones' apprentice and Kicker's lady-love, so it was inevitable that she get involved. And Sally's being a brat ensured her getting into trouble no matter what people did. 2006: Coby was able to fix up Landmine, earning Prime's respect. After that, the kids helped the Autobots set up shop on Earth and so the Autobots apparently felt like they owed them. -------------------- Lexicon: still up and running!

Good list, but you're just pointing out their highlights, and not their failings. It's easy to make something look better if you forget to include all the bad stuff that went along with them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif) Further, half the list is just, "Humans protected by Bots", so, yeah...kinda invalidates the point when the only reason the humans are there is because they're self-insertion characters, and most of their screentime is used up in being protected by their guardians.
Sari's capable of defending herself. She's smart, she's got more guts than most humans, and she's important to the plotline. The Allspark chose her, specifically, and she has not let it down ever. Has she used the key for silly things? Yeah, enhancing a ghost story, playing with her toys some. When you were 8, what ridiculous things did you do? I'm sure if people think about it, Sari's foibles are far less than what a COMMON 8 year old does. But without her, the Bots would have been killed long ago. You credit Sparkplug with being a valid member of the team cause he can use a wrench? You MUST then credit Sari as being a valid member of the team because she can heal the Bots as well. Better than Sparkplug ever could in fact. So, yeah, don't forget to include the fact that Sparkplug was a big hand in nearly destroying the world. Sparkplug nearly killed Prime. Spike is hostage bait in half his appearance forcing the Bots into traps. The Armada kids were responsible for awakening the Mini-cons yes, and as a consequence of that, also brought Unicron around. Kicker able to stand up in a fight? Sure, because he held Star Sabre, an ultra powerful sword. So, going by your list, Sari's got it all. She's responsible for triggering the events the plot deals with (carrying the Allspark). She's a mechanic/healer. She gives the Bots their base. And unlike all the other humans, when she's in trouble, she kicks not one but two different Decepticon asses. She's also had the guts to stand up to Prime and Megatron, and brave enough to be part of their very fight. Smart enough to trick several Cons. So, yeah...case closed. Sari wins. Thanks for helping me prove it. So, yeah...case closed. Sari wins. Thanks for helping me prove it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-ball.gif) I just simply explained why the Autobots were depicted as allowing kids to stay around. It was never my intent to further an argument. Please keep your little rantings to yourself and leave me out of it. As it is, Sari's not perfect either. *Her infatuation with the Soundwave robot nearly got them all wiped out. *She's been used as kidnap bait. *She's been periodically portrayed as a brat, especially when it comes to crying her way into whatever she wants. -------------------- Lexicon: still up and running!
