QUOTE Jonah Hill in Talks for Transformers 2! PDF Print E-mail Written by Stephanie Sanchez Tuesday, 29 April 2008 Word on the street is Jonah Hill, that's right the highly talented thesp from masterpieces like Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Superbad, is in talks to star opposite Shia LaBeouf in Michael Bay's Transformers 2. EW.com had the rumor posted today. They say Hill is in negotiations to play LaBeouf's college roommate. Looking back at the casting sheet we have for the film, the college roommate reads as follows, [CHUCK] 19-25 yrs., Sam's roommate at Princeton. He runs a conspiracy theory website. Funny in an irreverent, edgy way, he is shocked to see his conspiracy theories come to life. (2nd Lead) If this goes through expect an announcement to be forthcoming from the trades! Transformers 2 is expected to start shooting this summer! Is it true? Or is it A LIE BY MICHAEL BAY? -------------------- |

Please...For the love of god let it be a lie! Jonah is a funny guy but TF2 is a bad idea to put him in. Please let this be a lie!

I hope it's a lie. I'm concerned that the more intelligent use of humor in the first movie has gone to their head, falsely giving them the confidence to destroy an otherwise good film. Just the Dungeon & and Dragons film some years ago. All the comic relief was centered on one worthless character who made the whole film painful to watch.
But didn't we go through this speculation for the first TF movie? -------------------- How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?

While I did find him pretty funny in the movie "Accepted" alongside Justin Long, he still managed to be pretty annoying during parts of the film. With Shia owning the craft of being an enjoyable dork to watch, I think the movie series has enough to fill its quota without the addition of Jonah Hill. Besides, they had the always awesome Anthony Anderson in the first flick to play this type of character. I vote to bring him back in some fashion.

I'm concerned that the more intelligent use of humor in the first movie has gone to their head I think you're confused. This is about a sequel to Transformers. Jonah Hill is very funny, and probably a good fit, since Bay seems so determined to allow only improvised dialogue in these movies. But I am a little concerned about having TWO young, funny male actors with currently-skyrocketing careers in the sequel... the flick's going to have to devote a lot of time to their shtick to justify their presence. Besides, they had the always awesome Anthony Anderson in the first flick to play this type of character. I vote to bring him back in some fashion. Anthony Anderson may be a fine comic actor, but his character in the first film was mostly unfunny and completely unnecessary. I hope he and his whole "hacker" subplot stay far away from TF2. More casting: Australia's Teresa Palmer, whom you probably don't know from "December Boys" and "The Grudge 2."

But didn't we go through this speculation for the first TF movie? Maybe the rest of the world saw a different movie than I did. Masturbation jokes. "My bad." "What's up, little bitches?" This isn't hi-brow comedy. On the " Teresa Palmer" front, I suppose Bay just took the Transformers directing gig to nail every Aussie blonde that has a headshot and a resume. I now understand his motivation. -------------------- I'm pretty sure it = nipples on Batman.
