Yo.

So I got a call from TCC today because of an issue with my form that was easily resolved, but I managed to get a little bit of info in the conversation. I didn't get the info to specifically post it here, but I figure I may as well while I have it.

I faxed in three registrations at about 7:10 EST the night the registration went up which was about two hours after it went up. I asked if we made it into the first 100, and she said we just slipped by and made it in. She also mentioned that over 400 people registered in the first 24 hours. I didn't get any info on the classes because I didn't sign up for them and I knew FP was trying to keep working. Sounds like turnout this year may be slightly better than some of us speculated. Obviously, that could just be a huge initial rush, but I think it bodes well overall for attendance.

I think it means the devoted base is definitely growing. I dunno about total fanbase or anything, because that's much more of a long game. But the number of people so into it they'll fax it in within 24 hours being so big is definitely cool!

And man they need a webform. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) I know it's a real dead horse here, but those numbers are just way too many to have to be dealing with paper.

Definitely no pin for me as I was the next day (that was Monday right and not Sunday?). Hopefully if they had a huge rush of registrations, and it remained pretty steady (like last year) they'll increase the number of box sets (though they said that was a matter of taking the unboxed figures and putting them in boxes). I'm hoping the number of at con only figures is increased (or around the same amount as last year) so I have a decent chance of getting the figures after the con directly from the source. Didn't they sell out of 1400 Primus packages within 48 hours last year? 400 seems low.

No. The Primus Packages didn't sell out until just under the 4 week/month mark.

I wouldn't discount the possibility of getting into that. The customizing class was always more popular, but then again, until this year, the 2nd class hasn't been terribly interesting to TF fans, and molding & casting is more interesting.

It irritates me that they don't offer more classes on Friday. As usual, we can't get there until Thursday afternoon. Unlike last year when we had the Hasbro tour on Friday, I don't think there's anything happening on Friday this year. We sent our registrations in Thursday night. Since we can't get there a day early, we didn't sign up for the customization class. But we wanted to. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif)

That's why you're supposed to take the entire week off. Duh. Botcon is your family vacation for the year, remember?

Another FYI, I believe they're starting to charge people's cards today. While the amount hasn't cleared to my online credit account, my remaining available credit is now what it would be if my Botcon expense was subtracted from my total available credit line. Hopefully this means that everyone will know soon where they placed in order, if they release that information by email. I don't recall.

I checked my account, it appears a pending charge of about $375 is sitting on my account right now, which would be the price of a Primus package and a customizing class. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I got into the class. Hopefully we'll see the full charge tomorrow or Friday and we'll know for sure.

*scampers off to check*

I just hope it isn't one of those deals where because the class got filled up.
They kick my form to the side with the error forms and do something dumb like make me resend it.

ARGH! I won't be able to register for another six days!
It would really blow if the toys were all gone. Like, a LOT.
Ho many sets did they make overall last year?

1400, but if I recall that was after an additional run. Not sure if they kept that amount, or lowered it as I figure demand will be less this year. You should be fine.

I am very curious what this year's attendance will be like. Last year saw the trifecta of the summer date, live action movie, and a hugely popular exclusive idea. It will be hard to recreate that kind of buzz again. Hopefully FP took those factors into consideration when ordering this year's exclusive toys. I would seriously doubt they'd reach 1400 again. Then again, I'd love to be proven wrong. One thing's for sure, I've got my Primus package ordered already.

Thanx for the info Robowang!

I got my call Tuesday for confirmation, but I doubt I made it in the first 100. I was told that I was 7th in line for Thursday Customization Class, but that at that time they had space for the 2 Day class. I'm not getting to Ohio til like sometime Wednesday afternoon so I couldn't do both parts of that class.

Look forward to seeing you guys at the Con!
