QUOTE
October 9, 2007 - Steven Spielberg, director of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, told IGN that Transformers 2 is rapidly being prepared for production. Spielberg, who executive-produced the first film, said that the story will be going out within the next 30 days.

The original Transformers followed the adventures of a young boy named Sam Witwicky (Shia LeBeouf) who finds himself caught up in an intergalactic struggle between two groups of shape-changing robots. Spielberg said that the producers want to get the film going before the possible Writer's Guild strike occurs.

Speaking from Universal Studios in Hollywood, Calif., Spielberg also said that LeBeouf will be returning to the role of Sam for "multiple" Transformers films.

Why am I having flashbacks to X-men 3? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif)

Eh... they may both have been rushed, but it's not like Transformers was nearly as good as X-Men or X-Men 2. They've got a lot of potential to get better OR worse with the sequel, rushed or not.

in all honesty, all the sequel needs is more action, a thin plot, and less comic relief.

Honestly, the first movie moved pretty fast once they'd gotten over the hurdle of what direction they were going in (story-wise, designs, etc.) Most of that is already in place for the sequel, so all they really need is a kickass story that ups the stakes, delves into TF mythology a bit more, and maybe gives us a few surprises like, say, triple changers or some such. And I, for one, will be glad I'll only have to wait 2 years instead of three. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-ironhide.gif)

The only thing that I really need to be happy with number 2 is the 'con's getting an underwater base. Done in an homage to the g1 crashed ship\underwater base.

I'm also hoping and praying that megatron gets a little size mass shifting in this one. He's did absorb a good chuck of the allspark. It could do it...so why not eh????

If you read the main page, you'll see that it's "real", but won't be used.
