I'd be happy with either, so I'm especially happy to only be spending $100 on it.

Why did Seibertron bother taking so many comparison pictures if they were just going to compress them down to the point of being terrible?

If I hadn't already bought the Takara version, I would probably be happy just getting the US release. But I'm not buying it again.

The paint isn't as nice, but I'll take it. Like has been said, a hundred dollars is much nicer a price tag than $250.

I don't really mind the blue Roller, so I'll be fine with Hasbro's. Plus, the blue on Prime looks like it pops out rather nicely.

Actually, the pictures came from ACToy, Seibertron just reposted the pics.

Speaking of which, I'm surprised Hasbro actually included the trailer this time.

The cab isn't so strong from behind -- it looks a little like a pickup-truck bed with a crotch on it. I suspect those liberties were taken because the designers intended the trailer to cover it. Hasbro probably just decided that the trailer improved the truck mode enough to be worth it. Or, maybe the play value of the trailer is enough. It doesn't seem to have added too much to the retail cost, at least.

I'm with Spectre. I can't figure out why Hasbro chose not to paint the face plate.

Huh?
It looks painted to me in those comparison photos. Same sheen as the Takara version and everything...

It wasn't painted at earlier conventions but yeah, it is painted now but it's not the same at all. The silver on the TakTomy release is a solid and smooth silver. This Hasbro one has the sparkly chunks in the paint that I don't like in silver paints.

Ah, ok. Hopefully it isn't that terrible in person, as this is the version I'll end up with (no matter what!)

Then it's guaranteed to be in every store within the next five/six days, right!? ( - ~ - )
...
Lol, hopefully it at least shows up in August.

Looks good. I think the improvements outweigh the downgrades, and the price is definitely much more right for me since I'm not terribly into Masterpiece toys.

Not sure I need another box on wheels to toss in the closet somewhere. Kinda waffling on this, trailers just do nothing for me if there isn't a super mode of some kind involved and a hundred bucks is a lot when I'm only interested in half the toy.

Yeah but its better then $250 when you're interested in only half the toy, so you're already getting it for less then half price!
