No story yet but it's the "breaking news" on msnbc.com

Wow. I really didn't see him beating the charges.

You'd think that the girl and guy accused of being in the tape, both say that wasn't them, that this would have ended quicker than 6 years.

The prosecutor went forward with the charges because he had a witness who testified that she had a threesome with Kelly and the underage girl.

Obviously, case wasn't as strong as they thought it was.

It was some lawyer team looking to make a name for themselves going after a celebrity. Sad thing is it worked...they got their attention.

Sounds like the most damning evidence was a defense expert who altered the video to remove the heads. That fit right in with the defense's "he was framed" defense.

Really, it sure sounds like the case was doomed long ago and should have been dropped. When both sides have friends and family who will swear under oath that they can or can't recognize him, just stop wasting taxpayer money.

Nevermind the idiocy of wasting six years trying to punish a guy for a grainy videotape. I'm certainly not defending statutory rape but just about every lawyer will tell you that a trial with a uncooperative victim won't work out well.

Yep and all i can think about is rileys line in there.
"That girl wanted to be peed on! you know how i know? because she didnt move. When i see piss coming I move! She saw it coming and stayed there."

iam paraphrasing of course but it was somewhere around there.

Now I must wonder how often Riley sees piss coming.

I remember that episode, twas a funny one. As for this case, I haven't been following it, but yeah, if no one is going to cooperate, not much you can realistically do.

Was Chappelle on the jury?

Just goes to show that if you can somehow get six hugging years to work on your case you can beat the "got caught peeing on a little girl" rap. lol

To be fair I really don't think he knew she was underage. Teenagers lie and i have seen the "13 going on 19" wild child with my own eyes before. Of course, that was a friends sister and I was intelligent enough to not touch. Helped that someone told me she was 13. And she wasn't pathetically starstruck and willing to do anything to be with me.

I guess it's the accident on the highway quality. I couldn't care less about R. Kelly. The only good thing about "Trapped In The Closet" is that Weird Al subjected himself to listening to it for a parody. But I can't help but be mildly fascinated by the whole circus aspect of the scandal.

Suppose R. Kelly just proved once and for all that it IS better to get pissed off than pissed on. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif)

if he wasn't schtupping aaliyah when she was a teenie bopper, you might have a valid point.
he knew her age. and this isn't the only little girl story surrounding him, it's just the only one that went to trial.
i don't know what's worse, that he got off, or that his next album will inevitably go platinum.

I forgot that he was with Alliyah long before she was legal.

Anyway, irrelevant because according to the jury the doubt wasn't with him. They had no doubt it was R Kelly on the tape. But since the minor and her parents didn't cooperate there wasn't sufficient proof the girl was her, in their eyes.
