Yeh it actually made me wish I'd let the council die in ME1 when I returned to the Citadel. On my next playthrough I will. I did. Their replacements don't even want to meet you. So, ME action figures. We're getting MaleShep, Thane, Grunt and Tali. Boo-urns. I'd rather get Garrus, Mordin, Legion and Miranda. But I'm odd, me. -------------------- |

The thing about a Shepard figure is that he/she looks different for everybody. Maybe if they have him a plastercine face. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif)
I've noticed they use Grunt and Thane in all the promo stuff for ME2. Figure-wise I'd like Shep, Garrus and Tali, maybe Jack or Miranda too. I just picked up Legion, I'm loving HIGHLIGHT to view: the idea of a Geth in my squad. Toy male Shep looks silly. Good news about wave 2 though.
Just completed it but lost Mordin and Tali, I'll have to try again (the only death I'd accept is Zaeed (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) ) The ending reminded me of Serenity a lot, felt like I didn't know who'd survive, and impossible odds. Fantastic game. The game to me is like all the best bits from the sci-fi genre programming. This post has been edited by BlitzwingHaz: Mar 5 2010, 05:46 PM -------------------- ![]() |

Went straight to the citadel after getting ship and was surprised with Anderson and undina's reaction to shepards return . Your welcome for saving the galaxy . Well, consider the company you show up in. I think I first met him again with Garrus and Mordin. One of those things, sadly. You still arrive in the Normandy...which is brazenly showing off that Cerberus emblem on it. -------------------- Nobody knows what we're for only what we're against when we judge the wounded

Was dissapointed with the ending of the game. HIGHLIGHT to view:
If anything, all they really did was piss the Reapers off and speed up their attack plans, since no-one apart from Cerberus is acknowlodging what is going on. The lack of interest from the Alliance is really irritating me. Thought the end boss was a bit daft looking, but the lead up to it was excellent, managed to save everyone after a second shot. -------------------- ![]() |

HIGHLIGHT to view:
I think the Citadel and the Alliance probably are aware and have people working on it, but they haven't seen what you've seen. You don't survive this long by being stupid, but they only have half-formed theories and wild speculation, and the testimony of Shepard and a crew of ex-Cerberus agents. Given the Council seem to trust you as far as they can throw you, it's fair enough that they need more to go on. The Alliance at the very least probably have something bubbling away, given that most of Cerberus' backers and supporters are rather high up in the Alliance. Honestly? I wouldn't be shocked to find intelligence chiefs in the pay of Cerberus, or at least working alongside them. As for the invasion, depends how fast they can move. They're floating in the void, and can't use the back-door into the Citadel anymore. I don't think things have sped up, they're just having to use a different plan. The construction of the Human-Reaper (Which I agree, looked a bit daft, and yes, the build up was so much more horrifying) would require millions more humans, quite possibly a vast chunk of the human race. It'd take a great deal of time to get the resources together, but it'd cripple a galactic power and send the others into a state of paranoid panic. Just out of curiosity, BlitzwingHaz, did you save the facility or destroy it? -------------------- |

I destroyed it, dunno if The Illusive Man is ruthless enough to try and create a Reaper from another race, but I don't trust him so I got rid of it. I'm planning to do a playthrough as a ruthless badass now. Here's something I don't really get, why didn't they succeed in creating a Prothean/Collector based Reaper? I don't get the point of the human one, is it intelligent? Does this mean the Reapers all look like the races they devoured? Why not make a Turian or Asari one? -------------------- ![]() |

Humans are special.
When you bring different squad members, Harbinger comments on their species weakness. "Turian, you are considered too... primitive" "Asari, reliance upon alien species for reproduction shows genetic weakness" |

Humans are special. Pretty much. They have the most diverse gene-pool of current races, and lacky any major shortcomings. HIGHLIGHT to view: Which Mordin cheerfully foreshadows on his Loyalty mission. The only other race that the Reapers seem to think would work are the Krogan, but the genophage sank that idea as the population is probably far too low to construct a Reaper. Which could be an interesting point for the third game. -------------------- |

That seems to be /constantly/ mentioned through the game. Not overly heavy; but there are alot of little off comments that talk about the diffrences between the species. -------------------- ***Signature removed by Staff due to size restrictions. Please keep to 500X200 images and text included.***

Playing Mass Effect 1 now, and hugin hell! This game needs to be redone using ME2 controls, AI, Targeting, and everything else. It shouldnt take 3 hours to complete a mission. The lack of save points is horrid...your land vehicle gets ruined the mission fails. Targeting with sniper rifles or assault rifles just arent an option.
Mobs being able to shoot at your from so far off you can see them to return fire. Had I played this game first, I would not of bought ME2 in fear of the same game play. Though I do wish the areas you can visit in ME1 were available in ME2. The Ward, C-Sec, and oh, how I'd love to have been able to meet up with Barla Von again in ME2. |

Yeah, hopefully the sculpts improve for the second wave. The first Mass Effect 2 toys are kinda hit or miss. Tali and Grunt look nice, at least.
I've been reading the Redemption comic, getting a bit more on the story between the two games, Liara tracking down Shepard's body to give to Cerberus, etc. I caught that conversation with her the first time around, which is largely due to the fact that I'm thorough to the point of being neurotic. If someone has something significant to say, I often check again to make sure they've said to me everything they have to offer. Probably part of why my first playthrough clocked in at over 50 hours. And I think that with the disdain Garrus shows for politics and red tape, he'd be miserable on the Council. He's at his best when he's unrestrained. And as tedious as the Mako could be at times, the Hammerhead looks like a definite improvement, from what little gameplay there is to be seen of it right now. When is the next tasty buffet of DLC goodness, end of this month? This post has been edited by Strafe: Mar 7 2010, 08:48 PM |

The lack of save points is horrid... you dont have to go to a special point to save. just hit start and then save game anytime you want (cept during combat). i like that MUCH better than having to go all over the place just to save (GTA games...) -------------------- When I die I will surely go to Heaven for i spent my life in Hell ![]() "It had a very sinister appearance," Coakley told reporters. No, he means lack of 'Autosave' points. It can be very bad for you to go through a Mako map, clear most everything, and make one mistake and have to start back at the landing point becuase you forgot to save. This is something I noticed between the two games. ME1, I'd be to save 70 by the end of the game; while my first ME2 play through I think I barely got past save 10. ME2's small mission format allows for much more frequent saves; though has the draw back of lowering epicness of some missions. -------------------- ***Signature removed by Staff due to size restrictions. I finally bought Mass Effect 2, should be finishing Mass Effect 1 sometime this coming Weekend.
I just finished Noveria, still have Feros to do, but have completed all the Sidequests available, unlocked Uber Weapons via the Millionaire Achievement, and am around level 37. So far I'm up to Save 208, I save every chance I get. lol. Really enjoying this game so far. Hope the Second game holds up. |
