The Allspark.com sent an inquiry to Hasbro about the Transformers Prime First Edition... Or rather the lack of them. Here is the reply:

QUOTE
Prime First Edition was a limited release. Toys R Us stores in each market
chose from a variety of assortments available to tease the launch of the 2012
Transformers Prime Robots in Disguise Line.

The main line of Robots in Disguise is the new Prime line for 2012. There are no
plans at this time for additional Prime First Edition figures, but if there is a
demand for them, we may look at it again in the future.

That's, uhm, unfortunate.

Wrong forum, but yea, I saw a stack of Bees, and that was it. Now the entire wall at local TRU is stupid movie walkie talkies.

Wow that's just....wow.

So out of the "variety of assortments" each TRU chose only the first wave of deluxes and totally ignored wave 1.5 along with the Voyagers and Two pack?

Does it matter? Unless they destroyed the molds after making the toys, we're going to see the same figures in the near future, just in different packaging.

The Voyagers could be problematic initially, but a Cliffjumper Vs. Vehicon 2-pack would be pretty doable, maybe for 2013. And hell, TRU's done so many 2-and-3-packs, who's to say we couldn't see the First Edition Voyagers in one at some point?

With the main line using new molds rather than the FE molds (in most cases), they won't be "the same figures". Best we could hope for is a Cliffjumper with flames or tribal art. Or a Bulkhead with some added battle damage or mud spray.

I'm not super worried about it, but I figure the figures were probably made in large enough quantities to end up somewhere eventually. Unless that is that they didn't produce a lot because they weren't ordered in the first place, in which case carry on running around the room screaming.

FE Prime, Bulkhead, and Cliffjumper were some of the main things I was interested in. It's kind of a shame since the FE stuff looks better, and is less gimmicky than the later stuff.

I just hope that BBTS will still be getting their orders in, I'd asked about it on monday and they couldn't give me any info because THEY had no info.

Well I just placed an order for Takara's FE Cliffjumper & Vehicon. I want the Cliffjumper at least as it looks a lot nicer to me than the regular one. Not sure if Vehicon is going to be better or worse (initial impressions of the latter one is he's better looking).

They're currently on Backorder at HLJ but it seems like they're expecting some more in.

Now I guess the real question is, did American TRUs order the rest of FE and just not put it out for Christmas, and will we eventually see that overstock at other stores? Do Canadian TRUs and US TRUs have different ordering systems or is everything under 1 umbrella?

Isn't this just the same case of a retailer not wanting to sell product from Hasbro?

So, doing some logic in my head.
"TRU stores in each market"
BBTS, TFsource, HTS and other US webstores have never received the Voyagers or 1.5
Canadian TRUs ordered the full line, US TRUs only ordered wave 1
All the voyagers and etc went to Canada which is why US webstores never got them.
We will not see these toys in Ross, et al, because US TRUs have no overstock to sell.

Or, at least, being unable to tell the difference between a toy that has a large demand and other toys from previous waves that, nearly a year later, are still languishing on the shelves. TRU's philosophy seems to be to wait for those to disappear before ordering new stock.
