That's kinda where I am too. I don't want to want 3 party stuff. It's too expensive and I'd rather give my money to Hasbro who are the rightful owners. But the 3rd party people showed a lot more stuff I want. For the moment my money is leaning that way.

ZacWilliam, Hasbro doesn't owe us any more reveals no, but I'm so used to seeing so much more than this at Botcon I'm let down...

Exactly. I'm not upset with them, but I am disappointed. And I too would much rather give Hasbro, or even Takara/Tomy my cash. It tends to go much further with them *lol*

So Transformers only get to have crude jokes for mulitmilliondollar movies franchises, when fans do it it's wrong. Got it.

Bay does not clear every scene, line, or action with Hasbro. It's unfortunately the nature of that beast. People from Hasbro have admitted that they are uncomfortable with him using off-color humor.

So this... doesn't hold up at all. You're very misguided on several levels.

Aligned is a separate multiverse from the previous multiverse, as I read it.

Not really multiverse though. It's sounding like one big universe with different things happening at different parts that may or may not affect the others. Some selected remarks:

QUOTE
Archer: same line about making a single continuity
"bringing the whole modern view of the brand into a systematic order"

how do exodus/exiles and wfc connect into the prime story
"each platform has its own story needs in order to be dynamic and successful...not every detail will line up perfectly...the visual stylings are different for several reasons"

I'm thinking of some of the older myths and lore here, where you get a dozen tales of the same characters and they can't completely match up... you just accept that all the stories actually happened to these same people and the fuzzy/inconsistent parts remain that way.

This is, as I said before, kind of how modern comic universes work too, with varying artistic styles, big storylines in one title that mean everything IN that title, but may or may not even get mentioned in the others (sometimes even when the same characters are involved), and cohesion/continuity is something you try for and play with loosely at the same time.

Well, anyway, it sounds like the wiki has some page splitting to do.

Primus (Unaligned) for the multiversal Primus under the old multiverse rules.

Primus (Aligned) from the new soft multiverse that doesn't acknowledge the existence of "Primus (Unaligned)".

What I want to know is, is Rescue Bots in continuity with the Prime cartoon? It sounds like it to me!

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) That WOULD be amusing. More than likely though, Hasbro just sees it sitting in the same vague area the movies occupy.

(IIRC, they've explicitly said that Decepticons don't exist in Rescue Bots, so it CAN'T exist in... well, any continuity we currently know.)

This panel sounded really disappointing, aside from the stuff left out of the Vault. I mean, was there really huge interest here for info on a Chinese MMORPG?

The sad part is that the interesting thing they did was show exclusive pictures in a panel where no pictures were allowed to keep the competition from seeing it...of character over 10+ years old, so it's not like they were worried their competitors would copy them. So basically it was useless.

Is there really any worry Bandai will release something inspired by Action Master Smokescreen?

Those two situations aren't anything alike, and what Hasbro is probably objecting to is not just fans making crude jokes, but fans deciding to deliberately screw with one of their initiatives for the "lulz."

Considering the company has been focusing on movie stuff for the past year, and they're not allowed to show any of the probably awesome movie toys, plus they have minimal hands in crafting the fiction of that universe...it makes sense they don't have a lot to show.

I understand completely why there's not a lot to throw at us, but...yeah.

they also said end of the year we will be seeing some stuff, and that they are trying to find places for the shortpacked RTS stuff.

I'm academically interested in it. This is the first time I've heard of a company having two MMOs made at the same time based on the same thing.
Closest thing to it is Star Wars I think.

I think people are being unnecessarily harsh on this panel. It sounds really, really entertaining - I've have actually pissed myself laughing at the bit where Aaron Archer acted pissed that people didn't take his juvenile character popularity poll seriously enough so he was in a hump when the outcome is entirely meaningless beyond throwing some reused character art on a website it already exists upon. Particularly when sitting there and laughing at the suckers who'd spend a day queuing up and a ton of money to get into a panel where no information was shared, because it was being saved for a "more important" convention that had very little do with the actual brand.

...Hold on, wait? They were serious? That's even funnier.

Plus, SDCC has the advantage of being post-DOTM, so they don't have to worry about holding back surprises related to that. Holding back Generations info, though... that should have been here.

The way I heard it yesterday was "through the end of the year"; minor distinction, but it means more time.
They reiterated today that the Gen style stuff, in general, is an important segment, and they recognize they are targeting different TFs to different demographics.

Yeah, there is no gender. Cybertronians just have some bots with feminine voices and appearances that are addressed with female pronouns for no particular reason.
