Before I get rid of my Madman Australian Beast Wars DVDs, I thought it would be a good idea to share the making of documentary that I've never seen anywhere else before (The Madman set has a lot of exclusives). It's only 10 minutes long, but it's pretty cool to see Mainframe animators in action.

Oooo. I look forward to watching this. Too bad I have to wait until tomorrow night when I can use the other satellite card that has unlimited bandwith. A 10 minute video would suck up too much on this one. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif)

You can tell at the time this was made they had no idea it would be this long lasting.
Hell, even their comment about Hasbro's Transformers that's "Been around about 10 years" says that. |

How did this even get recorded? It's not like they made a documentary like they did for Reboot (which was one of many awesome children's show documentaries made for British TV channel 'Channel 4') but there's no question this was filmed during production.
I suppose I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, though. -------------------- Being part of any fandom is fundamentally embarassing.

Glad you guys like it. There's a bunch of other neat stuff in these DVDs, such as recent interviews with cast, animators, programmers, writers, etc. Something I forgot about until just now is a full animatic of Nemesis part 2.. Maybe I'll grab more of it. I'm hesitant to grab too much, but then again there are plenty of full episodes on YouTube already.
I wonder if the programs and data files used to make the show are still sitting around on some server somewhere. |

Thanks, that actually answered a question I was looking for an answer to a day or two ago.

The Nemesis part 2 animatic was released on the Kid Rhino DVD sets, but the Making Of special was sure new to America! -------------------- |

Yeah, that was really fun to watch. It also reminded me of how much I would like to hear Gary Chalk again. I love my Cullen Prime, but Chalk was great too.

I can help with grabbing/ripping things if you (or my fellow Wiki editors) like, as I own all three sets. -------------------- |

So, what is the story with the Australian DVD release getting all this awesome bonus stuff that the rest of us missed out on?

After seeing those, all I have to say is thank you so, so much to whoever added their artistic flair to the robot modes to make them as distinct and pleasing to the eye as they were. The difference is pretty stunning.
