Chapter 1: Close Encounter

"Ay Cayamba! This heat is messin' up my circuitry!" Road Rocket could be heard saying.

"It's not my fault," Dial Tone said.

"Yo sabo! This thing that Prime wants us to do is too heavy, hombre."

Dial Tone wiped his mouth. "It's absolutely ridiculous. My commanding officer--"

"Whoa!" Road Rocket jostled and came to a stop. Dial Tone nearly fell off. "What's wrong? Whoa..."

Road Rocket transformed. "Some kind of alien spacecraft, claro! It's huge!"

A gigantic robotic space craft loomed over their heads. It rumbled and shook, and soon it veered down and landed on the empty roads. "What is it, Road Rocket? I'm no expert."

"I think," said Road Rocket. "It's some kind of Quintessan ship."

They ambled up to the ship. A ramp extended down from, smoke rising from its engines. A being sauntered out of its gigantic frame. He was a skeleton-like being, with wires going all throughout his body. Dial Tone guessed he was at least 9'2''.

"Greetings," the being said. "My name is Procyon, emissary of the Liege Maximo."

They exchanged glances.

Chapter 2: Prime's Huddle

"I think this really bites, actually," Tunnel Rat said to Tailgate. They were driving down 95, heading to Washington D.C. "Riding with you sucks." He reached for his soda bottle. "I mean, really--"

"You are not 'riding with me', flesh-creature," said Tailgate. "And you will be executed once we reach Metroplex."

"I guess," said Tunnel Rat. "That you're full of it."

"I have no qualms with such a statement."

Mount Saint Hilary, Washington, Prime's headquarters.

Prime was slashing at rocks and trees with his energy sword. "May I ask if that is perfectly necessary, Prime?" Fixit said.

Prime's sword fizzled out. He faced Fixit with a condescending glare. "Decepticons are everywhere," he said. "We must be ready." He went into the cave in which their base was established.

Fixit looked worriedly at the Autobot leader. Blurr approached from behind. He looked with a threatening glare at Fixit. The medical bot shivered; this was the first time that Blurr had noticed him. "Can I help you?" Blurr aimed his rifled right at Fixit's olfactory receptor.

The interior of the cave was decked out with computers, artillery and standard-issue supplies (such as Energon). The soldiers under Prime's regiment included: Red Alert, Scattershot, Fixit, Blurr, and Deluge. A small regiment to be sure, but Prime used them to their fullest. Every now and then they'd raid a Decepticon base and bring back spoils. Scattershot was monitoring a computer. "Back so soon?"

"Yes," Prime said. "Fixit was being cowardly as usual," Prime said, sitting down on a rock. He extended his sword, and began to touch the blade with his servos.

"Is that right?" Scattershot said, a circuit bursting in his head. "Well, I guess we're in trouble." An alarm sounded. Prime and Scattershot exchanged glances. "I'll check it out." Prime winced. "No," he said. "Allow me."

Sure enough, they both went to scout out the situation. In the depths of the cave, they found a gun firing for no apparent reason. Prime jumped right into the middle of the mayhem and deflected the shots with his sword. "What are you doing?" Red Alert said, fully dismayed.

"A Decepticon ambush!" Prime said through the hubub. "Make ready!"

Red Alert sighed. He pressed a button, and the guns stopped firing. But they were also smoking and possibly irreparable. "You are being to cautious, Prime!" he said. "Stand in attention, soldier!" Prime boomed.

"This is ridiculous," said Red Alert. "I'm 'throwing in the towel,' as the fleshlings say."

He walked away. "I request dismissal," said Scattershot. "I need to recharge. Been out of stasis for two quad-cycles."

"Go," said Prime. Scattershot stole one more look at Prime and made away. Prime sat on a rock when he could only hear the trickling of water on the rocks. He stared, transfixed, at his servos.

"What do you mean 'alive'?" Jhiaxus bellowed. "Nonsense!"

He was hurdling through the skies in cyber-jet mode. "Yes, quite," returned Windrazor. "I don't need you clouts!" yelled Afterburner. "I think we'd be more fortunate if we sought out Grimlock by ground," Eagle Eye said. "Personally, I prefer the air!" Teradive replied.

Jhiaxus groaned. "Shut up the whole lot of you. This threat is best disposed of by air. He can't fly!"

"Yes he can," Eagle Eye said. "He has wings," Teradive chimed.

Jhiaxus grunted. "I want to see you all at the Infinity in less than a hecta cycle."

Sure enough, they all arrived at the ship at Antiga Space Port. "Now," Jhiaxus said upon them landing. "Let's get this straight."

"Grimlock is evil!" Teradive rang. "Trying to kill humans," said Eagle Eye. "A serious malfunction," Afterburner said. "We must kill him as soon as possible," said Windrazor. "Oops, I said it."

They all chattered amongst themselves. "Right," said Jhiaxus. "You're all fools."

Antarctica, Megatron's headquarters

"Good," Megatron drawled, peeking at the radar. "Starscream shall return soon. It is well if he has captured the flesh creature with which we shall conquer the universe." Soundwave turned his head slowly to look at Megatron. The frost was biting into their infrastructures.

"Megatron!" Starscream said, walking into their ramshackle building. "I have what we sought!"

"Excellent!" Megatron boomed. "Now show us."

Starscream opened his cockpit. He picked up what looked to be a small cybernetic life form. "What is this?" Megatron said.

"I found him at the Autobot's base in Washington," Starsceam snickered. "He is Mega Prime's power master."

Starscream put the life-form down. It began to walk and chime, like a toy-soldier. "Very well," said Megatron. "Now we are a step ahead of the game."

Chapter 3: A Bit of Folly

Far in the middle-east, near Afghanistan.

A portal opened, spinning like a vortex. A being emerged, with a red head, yellow shoulders and green torso. The portal closed. Some shepherds watched complacently. "Strange place, yes?" said the being. A goat belched. "Where is Unicron? What has happened? I have no idea, yes?"

He traipsed about, looking from right to left. "Well," he said. "I guess it's time to find out, yes?"

__

"I will have order!"

"But there is order," said Tailgate. "There, at the witness's stand, is a traitor. He betrayed his company, and therefore must die!"

"I didn't do anythin'!" cried Tunnel Rat. "This is some kind of a - "

"Kangaroo court!" returned the judge. "Everyone is dismissed. We will recess." Tailgate aimed a cyber-pistol at the judge's head. "Oh, I think not. Flesh creatures who are out of line are even worse than flesh creatures in general."

The judge simpered. Tailgate lowered his pistol. "Now," said Tailgate, "make way for the new judge. Suddenly, a gigantic metallic foot crashed through the roof of the Supreme court. They all glowered up. The judge's mouth drooled.

A great big gray tyrannosaurus gaped at them. "Behold, my slave!" said Tailgate. "Now you will see the errors of your ways, flesh creatures!"

"OPEN FIRE!" Jhaxus was flying overhead, firing away at Grimlock. Grimlock caught him in his mouth. "Don't dilly-dally, cyber-jets! I want him alive!"

"I will have order!" cried the judge. "That's 1,000,000,000 dollars of property damage!"

__

"Wow, where are we?" said Sureshot, feeling the walls of Procyon's spaceship. It was technology like he had never seen it. "Si," said Road Rocket, "is quite amazing--Not Cybertronian."

"Please do not unnecessarily touch the machinery - is delicate." Procyon was activating the ship for travel.

"So," Road Rocket said, "where are we going?"

"To see my master."

"Ask a simple answer, get a complicated answer," said Sureshot. "Who is your master?"

"You may be surprised."

__

Mt. Saint Hilary

"Prime, I am detecting a signature. It is unknown, but there is something odd about it," said Scattershot. They were in the communication bay of Autobase. Prime gazed at the screen. "Let them through."

"But Prime, they may be Decepticons."

"Exactly my point. We will destroy them if they are enemies," he said, clenching his servos, "and we will recruit them if they are allies."

Scattershot reluctantly obeyed and deactivated the weapon systems and force shield. A fleet of three ships could be seen veering over the horizon. The largest of them all transformed with rapidity, and dropped a tank on the ground. The two other jets transformed. "Hooligan! Spacecase! Begin the operation!" the tank said.

"To arms, Autobots!" cried Optimus. He reached for his left pelvis and pulled out an energy sword. He blazed through the Decepticons, felling Hooligan. Spacecase was behind him. He fired his wrist-gun. Prime caught the missile. The big ship transformed and landed behind him.

"Getting a little arrogant, are we?" he said, aiming his giant gun. Prime threw the missile at him, which failed to explode. Punching Spacecase, he turned and fired missiles from his shoulder magazines. The impacted on Dreadwing's missiles. "Why you --"

Scattershot shot a powerful voltage-shot at the Decepticon. He fell, defeated. Prime pulled out his sub machine gun. Megatron was just around the corner. "Prime!"

Suddenly, Prime felt himself disabled. A laugh crept into his audio receptors. "My null ray will handle any arrogance, Dreadwing." Starscream aimed his blasters at the fallen Prime. Suddenly, Starscream could feel a blunt shot hit his neck.

"Good job, Blurr," Prime said. He got up, impaled Dreadwing with his energy sword, and shot Starscream with his sub-machine gun. "Oh, but you forgot about me!" Spacecase was running up to Prime. A pair of laser beams from afar cut into Spacecase. Prime reached for his energy sword, and sliced the Decepticon's head off with a slice. Deluge walked gingerly up. Prime nodded at him.

"Autobots, assemble," Prime said, moseying about the offline Decepticons. "We have defeated some Decepticons," the Autobots gathered about. "But Megatron is still at large. Deluge, go with Red Alert. I will follow shortly."

They obliged. Scattershot eyed Prime. "Prime, don't you think - "

"I will not wait for Gismo to return," said Prime. "This is not his war. Let us return to base."

Chapter 4: Megatron Falls

New York City

"These photos are trash!"

"But, Mr. Jameson - " Gee, I thought they were pretty good.

"Get out of my office!"

Peter Parker traipsed slowly out of his boss's office, his eyes edging round the corner. He made way outside, and soon was trekking the busy streets of New York. Way to go, Pete. How are you going to put bread on the table now?

While he was heading for the Subway, he thought he heard a boom of thunder. But it was no ordinary sound. "Uh, oh." Time to go to the nearest alley. He sneaked into a dark corner where no one was present. "I really don't need your tricks, Electro. I'm not in the mood," he said, fully dressed in his Spidy outfit.

"No," a voice said. It was deep and grainy. Spidy felt a numbness fill his body. Before him, a purple and black vortex opened, spitting out rubble. A being stepped out. He was a tallish humanoid, white and blue, with tiger stripes and an insectoid head. "I am not who you speak of. My name is Tigatron. Come, your presence is required in the Cyber Jungle."

__

"I do really think we should go back," Red Alert was saying. "Megatron? Far too dangerous!"

"If you desire to go, go. I am continuing," replied Deluge. "Your fears are illogical."

"They are never illogical!" cried Red Alert. "Oh no!"

They pulled over. Megatron was parked right in front of them. Transforming, they ducked under some boulders and listened to what he was saying.

"Finally, I have you. Ultimate power is within my grasp," he said. "The universe is in my clutches."

"Wait for Prime to arrive," said Deluge. "He should be here any - "

A blast scattered them apart like breaking bread. "Hm? What's this? Autobot inferiors?" cried Megatron.

Deluge blasted him with a concentrated acid blast. "You cannot beat me with these toys!" said Megatron. "HAH!" he shot Deluge right in the chest. Red Alert was running away. "Ah, this one will do." Megatron fired a blast at Red Alert's back. He walked over to the damaged infrastructure, and stabbed a sword right through his body, picked him up like a bug. He looked up. "Prime!"

Optimus drove in at full speed and rammed Megatron. He transformed. Megatron picked up Deluge, and a hatch opened behind his back. A small robot walked out, and Megatron picked up up with his thumb. "Now, Prime." They stood face-to-face. "Choose. Your Powermaster friend, or this heap of weakness you call an Autobot?"

Optimus winced. He said nothing. "I suppose I will destroy both of them." Megatron aimed his fusion cannon at Deluge. Prime reached for his left pelvis, and quickly chucked his energy sword at Megatron. He faltered back. Optimus ran up to him, punched him, and yanked the sword out. "You win, Prime! But our war remains!" Prime cut Megatron's head off with a strong cut, but Megatron had already blasted at Deluge. They all fell back at the blast.

__

"Yes, commander Rook. I have caught the Vessel," Procyon was at Rook's base in Montana. "The two Autobots you specified offered little challenge. I disposed of the flesh creature accompanying them."

Rook was standing off in the corner, swathed in a ragged cloak. "Very well, Procyon. I have the next mission for you." Procyon bowed. He made for his spaceship, the Ion, and looked with serendipity at the shadowed scene. He tried to remember who he was before he met Rook, but all came up as a blank. He closed his eyes, perchance a smile. With little aforethought, he activated the ship, and was off. His next mission was to capture Prime's powermaster, Gismo.

__

"That's right, Grimlock," said Jhiaxus. They were standing over the battered form of Grimlock in Washington D.C. "You will be delivered to Antiga Spaceport prior to your court session. You have no excuse for your behavior."

Grimlock spat cyber-junk. "You have no excuse for being Decepticon!" he said. "But I go. You beat me Grimlock."

"Good," said Jhaxus. "Come, the Infinity is waiting."

Grimlock made to be shackled in stasis-cuffs, when blasts came from above. "What?" Swoop was shooting the Decepticon air fleet.

"Not!" Suddenly, a rocket landed near the battle scene, and a ramp extended. "Get in," said a bellowing voice. It was Omega Supreme. The rest of the Dinobots sortied and stood guard, shooting at Jhiaxus and his crew.

"How dare you!" said the bedazzled Decepticon. "You won't get away with this!"

"Oh, and by the way," Grimlock said, "I innocent. You wrong. I never attack flesh creatures. Only Decepticons."

"After him!"

Chapter 5: The Black Energon Cube

Spiderman awoke in a haze. He hadn't realized he was asleep. He stumbled to his feet. It's some kind of Transformer graveyard! "So glad you're awake." Before him, what looked like a giant crab-tank churned towards him. Tigatron was riding on him. "H-hey," he replied. "Where are we?"

"This," Tigatron said, "is the final remnants of the Cyber Jungle. The swarm devoured all the Transformers. It seeped through a rift and destroyed each and every one of us."

"Except you!"

"Right. Now, come with me, your presence is required."

"Listen," said Spiderman. "I have some business back on Earth, okay? So could you send me back there? This sure looks fun and all, but,"

"No," said Tigatron simply. "I have duplicated your body using a chronal displacer. Some turbulence might be expected on your homeworld, but other than that you should have no concerns whatsoever."

"What do you plan to do with me? Chronal displacer?"

"You shall see. Now come! We haven't much time!" With that, Tigatron rode away on the crab-tank. Ugh, what a pushy crowd, these Transformers. Though, if I'm needed, I guess I have no choice.

__

Prime, you cannot be as aggressive as you were on the battlefield today. You are not acting yourself.

Gismo, I have done everything you taught me. Please, for my own sake, listen. I don't need you anymore. You are getting in the way.

I needn't tell you anymore. This is my programming. You will not have a Spark until you return to your original self. I must follow you and act as Powermaster until then. Please, for you own sake, understand.

There is no being reasonable with you, is there!

"PRIME!" Prime woke up from his stasis. "What?"

"I've been trying to reach you for quad-cycles! Some leader of the Autobots you are!"

"I apologize, Groundshaker," replied Prime. Groundshaker's smug face was planted on the computer screen. "I don't care," replied he. "You've been disobeying direct orders from Autobase. Magnus wanted Megatron alive!"

"And I killed him," replied Prime. "So what? He is evil and deserves the pit!" Prime slammed his hand down on the monitor.

"I won't stand for slag!" Groundshaker replied. "Groundshaker out!" Prime's optics rested on a nearby lever. Gismo, I can't do this anymore. I long for war.

That is why you're not Prime.

Fixit's face showed on the monitor. "Prime, I have begun the operation on Deluge. He is severely injured," he said. "As for Red Alert - I think he will be fine. But he is scared out of his circuits."

What is your suggestion, Gismo?

I think that you must figure out yourself.

"Send him to Autobase, let Magnus figure him out."

"Very well."

__

"What we do next?" Sludge was standing in the corner of Omega Supreme's deck. "That exciting. Me Sludge want more fight!"

"Next," said Grimlock, "we storm Antiga. That be great fun."

"It also sounds life-threatening," came Supreme's voice. "But I will go."

Grimlock walked up to the helm. "Prime weak, now. Now, me Grimlock fight wars he too weak and sorry to fight!"

They all gave great cheer.

__

Tigatron and Spiderman clamored through the heaped mass, moving toward the sunset. They came to a pile of dead Transformers that grooved to an inlet, like a sand pit. Spiderman made a board out of web and sifted down the hill, followed by the slow crab-tank. At the foot of the hill was a spinning cube, spewing out dark energy. boy, I haven't seen anything like this in my life!

"Behold," Tigatron said, splaying his left arm at the cube. "The black energon cube."

"No kiddin'!"

"The swarm came from this cube," Tigatron said, "it has the ability to combine, and it has the ability to tear apart. This planet was once the ideal paradise for both Cybertronians and humans. Now, it is this dead wasteland that you see. There are thirteen black energon cubes in the universe. We must collect all of them to save the Cyber Jungle, and all other planets in existence."

"Sure, but," Spiderman was saying, "why me? Am I that special?"

"You represent a chronal flux," Tigatron replied. "Because in another dimension, you sell your life to Mephisto, a being who exists outside the universe's rim."

"How 'bout it?"

__

Procyon surveyed the Ion, making sure all was in order. "This is a great ship, yes?"

"Yes," Procyon said. "Now, we will attack the Autobase at night. Do you have everything in order, Death's Head?"

The bounty-hunter nodded. "Sure do, yes? Should be easy."

The ship coasted through the clouds slowly, ambling ever so closer to Mount Saint Hilary. "Very well," said Procyon. "Tomorrow, Tachyon will be in our clutches." He gazed at his wiry hand. He gaped at it. "You alright? You look sick, yes?"

"I am fine," said Procyon. "It's just - "

"Just what?"

he is my brother.
