I think I WILL start a thread, just so we can laugh/wish it had vox/master tracks.
Official list came out, all covers, no vocals: View the complete setlist after the break; *All The Small Things - blink-182 Chop Suey! - System Of A Down Cum On Feel The Noize - Quiet Riot (Slade) Dance, Dance - Fall Out Boy *Detroit Rock City - Kiss Dr. Feelgood - Motley Crue Highway Star - Deep Purple Holy Wars… The Punishment Due - Megadeth Pull Me Under - Dream Theater Somebody Told Me - The Killers Spoonman - Soundgarden Stone Cold Crazy - Queen The Joker And The Thief - Wolfmother Spirit Of Radio - Rush *We’re Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister White Room - Cream Youth Gone Wild - Skid Row Dirty Little Secret - All American Rejects Last Resort - Papa Roach Round And Round - Ratt Still Of The Night - Whitesnake Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet No One Like You - Scorpions Diary Of Jane - Breaking Benjamin *Blitzkrieg Bop - The Ramones Falling Away From Me - Korn The End Of Heartache - Killswitch Engage Run To The Hills - Iron Maiden Walk - Pantera Heading Out To The Highway - Judas Priest Won’t Get Fooled Again - The Who Pain - Three Days Grace All My Life - Foo Fighters Am I Evil? - Diamond Head / Metallica Bad Reputation - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts Our Truth - Lacuna Coil Sk8er Boi - Avril Lavigne Kiss Me Deadly - Lita Ford Magic Man - Heart Paralyzer - Finger Eleven Given Up - Linkin Park Which sucks, cause there's a TON of good songs here. I could almost forgive the covers thing if it had vocals. The peripherals also look to be Konami only and vice versa doesn't look like you can use your RB/GH ones on this (the guitar tab looked to have full six strings and the drum has six pads. The layout looks a lot different from the GH/RB mold too). Anyone going to get it? I know there's some Konami rhythm die hards out there... -------------------- Recharge

The game's a joke. Trying to get inbetween Rock Band 2 and GH:WT by delivering a product that doesn't do as much, doesn't work as well, is incompatible with all existing controllers AND, apparently, has fewer songs, most of which are inferior versions of songs from the other series? I bet it costs more for some reason, too.
Seriously, nearly every song I'd be remotely interested in playing is already in one of the other games. Blitzkrieg, Fooled, Spoonman, and... well, there aren't too many others I like at all. Okay, I guess Dr. Feelgood and We're Not Gonna Take It would be fun... if you could SING them. The E3 "demo"--where they highlighted how much worse the game sounded than a real band, and then failed at the song--was the death knell. The demo unit on display at SDCC--where I got to see more of the gameplay, graphics, and (mostly) the looooooaaaaaadiiiiinnnnng screeeeeeeeeen--was the coffin closing. This list is the final nail. |

I actually like a lot on this list, but no singing? Not in this day and age. I'm intrigued by the peripherals, but not enought to pay for it.
Though I do wonder between this and the lack of vocals on the create a song on GHWT if there's some separate liscensing issues with vocals. -------------------- Recharge

No vocals? No thanks. I may really, really suck at singing, but its by far my favorite thing to do in RB.

I'd hate to be the kid whose parents accidentally get him this instead of Rock Band or Guitar Hero for their birthday/Christmas/whatever.

So how long until half of the songs show up as DLC for one of the other games?

After seeing that E3 08 presentation... if I were working for Konami, I'd be real embarrassed. I have no interest in a game who's creators subscribe to Marvel's "If you can't beat them, sue them" mentality.

That really hurt me to watch. I really feel bad for that poor woman as that had to be really damn embarrassing...
WHOA! I just saw what the drums look like and... just whoa. That will be an absolute nightmare for anyone to play. This post has been edited by Cheetimus Primal: Aug 6 2008, 09:39 PM -------------------- |

Holy crap, that's a terrible presentation. They start things off with a crappy tribute band and then followup by having people play the game that sound worse than the crappy tribute band. Nobody plays these games so they can sound worse than crappy tribute bands. WTF?! Sounds like somebody threw this presentation together the night before. -------------------- |

... That was painful. I had little interest in the 1st place, and now that's been shot to hell. Can someone have negative interest in a game? 'Cause that's how I'm feeling right about now. -------------------- |

Oh god. I feel so sorry for everyone there in that room, including the host and the band. That was just a disaster.

Official now, you can use your RB/GH instruments for RR on the 360, and most likely on the PS3 also.
Good news, I'll now probably at least pick up the disc, just because I'm a sucker for these kind of games. I'll be interested to see how it charts when non Konami instruments are in play. Still, I really am interested in the challenge of their drums, but not enough to buy a third drum kit (I plan on getting the WT set). -------------------- Recharge

Coming out Tuesday...anyone getting this besides me? I mean, I'm not going to Wal Mart at midnight for it, but will probably grab it on payday the 15th. I'm sure there will be plenty of copies.

Picked it up yesterday at Gamestop. Man, this game was BERRIED. Tried to get it at two different places on the 14th, and none of the store managers had even heard of it. Finally someone found it in the system and said it would be there the next day.
The Gamestop had this HUGE rhythm game setup, including DDR and Singstar along with GH and RB, but RR wasn't with them. It was just in the new games section, not even on the shelf with the other new releases this week. 50 bucks. Gameplay...it's okay. Only done the guitar tho. The onscreen notes take some getting used to and flow straight down as opposed to the angle that RB and GH uses. The balls are kind of tiny. Been playing on hard, the biggest thing I notice is they use a lot more triple chord notes on hard than the other games do. There's different challenges that I think are probably its strongest point. Poison notes, score challenges and playing a section of a song with no onscreen notes after a couple of run throughs (still haven't beat that one yet). The covers are okay so far, though I think I do a better Blink 182 than the cover vocalist does. Nothing stands out awful yet like RB's RTTH vocals. Complaints so far: I'm not sure how the star power and atmosphere meter work. It just seems to activate randomly. Also I think I need to recalibrate the screen, the left side seems to be a bit cut off. Recommend for a rental if you want to check it out. FYI, people dying to play some more Pantera, there's a five song Pantera DLC pack for RR. Covers and no vocals but good tracks. Since I'm the one dummy that owns it, I'm getting it.
