From the Shout Factory! E-News Letter:
"Transforming The Beast & Headmasters
OK, Transformers fans. This is what you’ve been waiting for. We have officially secured the rights to bring you additional Transformers DVDs. Later this year, we’ll release two 4-disc sets: Transformers Beast Wars and Transformers Takara Collection: Headmasters. <insert “woohoos” ahd “heck yeahs” here> and complete series collections. This is the first time the Headmasters series is available in the U.S., and it all came together because you asked for it . . . at Comic-Con, Bot-Con and through our site. We’ll have more details as we get closer to releasing them, but we wanted to end rumor and speculation with an official confirmation here."

I'm buying HM for sure.

But now here's the big question.

Subtitles only? Star Dubs? Or, god forbid, a new dub?

I hope they can spring for a new dub. But include the old one as an option.

Aaaand, cue me seriously considering selling my Rhino BW DVDs. I love 'em well enough, but I absolutely adore the Shout G1 set, and think they would do a fine job on BW too.

Do I need two copies of Beast Wars?

Yes.

And i will always keep them in different locations, so that if i lose one set i will always have the other. Dinobot died for me god damn it, its the least I could do.

WOO! Gonna love me some Beast Wars collection... would be nice to include Beast Machines. Sadly, that's asking for too much.

Yes, but he made an illegal copy of himself from the single source.

And while the second "official" version was pretty awesome in a lot of ways, he was easily corruptible.

Will I get BW? Probably. I hate the Rhine release and just being released by Shout is a step up. It's a first day preorder if it's on par or better than the Madman sets...or is the complete series box is just totally awesome.

Headmasters...meh, I didn't like what I've seen of Headmasters at all, so I'm not excited any. I'm might be interested once we know the presentation is. If it's Omni dub only, then I don't think I'd want even Masterforce. New subs at the very least needs to be made.

I thought Beast Machines was going to be included with Beast Wars...judging by the number of discs I'd say that's a big no.

Personally, I'm a bit torn on this. But, kudos to Shout. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

I'm all over Headmasters, if the Beast Wars has much better extras maybe I'll sell my old ones for these.

Pfffth. Someone wake me up when they are releasing BWII on DVD. Not much else interests me from Japanese TF animation.

Headmasters will be boring with any dub. The old dub was at least hilarious, but after 40 episodes, even this could not save me from falling asleep in front of the computer...

If they don't release the dub I will cry. But not out loud. Men don't cry. They only get stronger.

Hmmm... I actually don't have all of BW, so that looks like a likely buy. Though their new Reboot set is slightly higher on my priorities because I doubted it would ever happen.

Headmasters... Well I have the Metrodome UK set, but I'm tempted to get this too if it looks good, just to support the release of more obscure foriegn TF series in the US. Masterforce deserves a US release and I'd love it if they got to BW2 and BWNeo.

ZacWilliam, wishes there was Any way we'd get an all new dub, but its not gonna happen...

I've got both the UK and Australian Headmasters sets, but it would be good if Shout! could secure some unedited episodes. Plus it would be preferable to have someone finally do some decent QC on the subs, both for name consistency and to finally correct the subtitles for episode 21, which blow one of the series' secrets several episodes too early, as both of these issues are present on both the UK and Australian Headmasters sets, even though they were released a couple of years apart.
