Hasbro's answers for Round 3 of the Q&A have rolled in!

1) How many Human Alliance figures are scheduled for the Revenge of the Fallen toy line? And when you decide to end the Revenge of the Fallen toy line, is there any chance that this fan-popular sub-line will continue? There are still plenty of human and not-so human characters that could use toys. Like Daniel with Arcee, Spike with Hot Rod, or Una and Chak with Transmetal Cheetor!

QUOTE
1) Currently, we have announced five figures for the Human Alliance line, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Autobot Skids, Barricade and Mudflap. Outside of these announced figures, we are already investigating other characters and pairings that would make sense for the line. As a whole, humans have always played an important part within the Transformers fantasy, especially in the two live action films. With that in mind, we have tried to bring those relationships to life in toy form. We are eager to see what the reaction to the line will be and will base our future decisions on where this line goes based on these results.

2) After Perceptor and the Insecticons, how many other reissues are planned? Or if there are currently no plans for more reissues, but it's something that you'd like to look into in the future, which figures would you personally like to see reissued in the US market?

QUOTE
2) Currently, there are no plans to release any other reissues at this time. However, we would always strongly consider any re-issues that Takara has previously done.

3) "Revenge of the Fallen" has brought with it a more adult-aimed Transformers, both in terms of toy complexity and the adult humor sprinkled generously throughout the movie. What will this mean for any future toys and fiction--including comics, toy bios and cartoons-- that Hasbro may have planned for the movie continuity? Would a movie continuity cartoon revert back to the more child friendly stories as we've seen with the past few years, or would it keep a flavoring of the adult themes that Michael Bay brought to the films?

I'd like to see a future Q&A ask why Hasbro won't go ahead and do something before Takara for a change. Even if we all know the answer already, I'd like to see Hasbro acknowledge this one publicly....

Wow, swank answer for the multiverse question. I particularly like the "dead end" universes as an explanation for conflicting fiction.

... So they wasted what could have been a really good question like "If the retailers don't accept the upcoming Animated toys, will you distribute them through Hasbro Toy Shop?" or "Are there any plans for Voyager and/or Deluxe molds for Scrapper and Hightower?" for something they won't answer?

Very nice, if circuitous, answer to the Fallen question.

Uh, the sites themselves are the ones that select the three questions out of the various submissions. So if anyone is to blame for selecting a non-answerable question, it's the Allspark's staff (myself included). We thought that the question would do well at addressing how Hasbro felt about the themes directed towards more mature audiences as present in ROTF, and how they might treat them in the future. Apparently Hasbro didn't think it a good question, however.

WoooHooo! to the Hasbro answer for the TFWiki's Multiversal singularity question. They could have just blown it off, or told us "a wizard did it" but they actually gave us a really good answer that works. Bravo Hasbro, good job. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

I can't believe they answered my Tfwiki.net question. What a glorious, triumphant bulljive-storm that was to witness.

Heck, even *I* like that answer, and I make no efforts to hide that I think the multiversal singularity stuff is a crock of jive. It goes around in circles with big words designed for the purpose... but it WORKS.

Eh, not really. It was pretty much code for, "Yes, we're sticking with Lee's assertion that the 13 (Fallen incl.) are multiversal singularites like Primus and Unicron. Conflicts in fiction are of no consequence because of quantum physics."

Basically, it's Hasbro's version of the Retcon Punch.

I would have preferred the much simpler "No, only Primus and Unicron are multiversal singularites. They're gods, so this makes sense for them. Normal transformers, even the 13, exist within their own universe even if they have analogues in other universes that are very similar."

And that's what I'll stick with as far as fanon goes. For example, to me, there's no Fallen in the UT. The closest guy is Sideways, though I haven't decided if he's on of the UT 13 or not.

I'm really encouraged by the Human Alliance response, though. If they want it to succeed, however, they need to severely ramp up distribution. They can't let it get treated the same way as alternators, especially at 10 dollars more in cost.

I'm glad someone asked about the cancelled Alternators. As I was the one that first found both, and every Q&A and the two Botcons I went to I always forget about that question.

Hasbro's answer to the multiversals is magnificently opaque. It's dazzling in the dictionary definition--it impresses you so much you don't at first notice that it doesn't actually answer the question and in fact sets up the question as being unanswerable. I like that.

I'd like it a whole helluvvalot more if it had ever been or would ever be expressed in any mainstream TF story. I mean, sure as hell that's what IDW should have been publishing instead of AHM.

But that's not the correct answer.

Or fist, for those amongst us with a penchant for irrational rage and volitility.

In all seriousness, are we sure they....just refused to answer it? Or did someone at Hasbro forget to copy the whole response when they sent it out?

Well, we have been seeing Takara churn out a lot lately so I have hopes.
