So, I've been making a concerted effort to try and get better at the classes I suck at, specifically spy and scout. Well, after 4 days of playing spy I've become fairly decent at it. Just went right down a line of enemies, all medics and heavies, got 8 backstabs in a row, no one the wiser.

I know I'm kind of being a douche while playing as one, but if you're gonna be a douche, you might as well have the points to show for it.

That's called, "doinitrite."

Being a Spy isn't about KDR, though. It's about being in the right place at the right time to grant your team an advantage. It's also about making the enemy team terrified at even the hint of your presence, so much so that they're distracted from fighting your comrades. Every player running around and Spychecking is a player who isn't contributing to his team in some other way.

Coming from someone who spends the vast majority of his time as an engie, my view of the spy is that his job is to harass the other team's engies, keep them pissed, their jive broken and once that's accomplished, annoy their snipers. Basically pick at their back lines until you find the weak point, then hammer it. Hoping to pick up that knife that auto disguises you as the guy you just ganked in the future. Think I could put that to good use.

I've never cared about my kill to death ratio, no matter the class. I just want to contribute and maybe become a better FPS player overall.

And now we play the waiting game.

TF2's getting a really extensive update tonight. Rather than list all the changes (it's a huge list,) I'll summarize the changes made to my favorite class.

QUOTE
Replaced the no-crit attribute with -25% damage on the following:
The Eyelander, The Gunslinger, The Southern Hospitality, The Powerjack (also added +20% melee vulnerability)

So the Powerjack can crit now, but it does normal axe damage... and makes the user more vulnerable to the type of damage he's most likely to receive when using it. Utterly unacceptable. It was totally fine as it was.

QUOTE
Flaregun
Flares always crit burning targets, regardless of range

I approve. Flaregun has always been pretty anemic, damage-wise. This helps even that up.

QUOTE
Backburner
Removed the restriction on airblast
Ammo cost increased 150% (4 blasts at full ammo)
Damage bonus reduced to 10% (from 15%)

Hm. This could potentially make the Failburner worth using.

Great. I'll start using my flaregun again. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) Of course, I'll probably get yelled at for sniping while being a pyro.....

Much as I hate to bump the TF2 charity drive off the subtitle, this is certainly worth telling people about.

and apparently the Hatless update has caused some issue with TF2. I haven't been able to access my backpack of items since I updated. looking through the forums, I'm not alone.
