I was planning to go, but did something stupid - didn't realize international travel restrictions had changed since I went to Niagara Falls in 2004. I'm not sure if my passport will come in time. Stupidly, it seems that I need the passport more to get back into my own country than to get to Canada (if I'm reading the things right).

I was planning on going but my home air-conditioning unit broke down on me. Being South Florida, air-conditioning is a pretty big necessity. My budget is now completely shot to hell.
The family and I had fun last year too so I'm kinda torn I can't go....unless I come across oodles and oodles of cash. One can dream, no? -------------------- |

I was there. I think I saw you a few times Stormy, but wasn't sure, and I didn't want to approach.
If you were in the script reading and auditions, I was the one who botched Blitzwing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-blitz.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-wildride.gif) This post has been edited by TrnsfrmGod: Jul 18 2010, 05:58 PM |

I was Blackarachnia! LOL Heh, that's awesome. Congratulations on getting the part! That was a hard fought battle, but you emerged victorious! I hope that I can be part of the reading again some day. Let me ask an ego boost question for all those who attended the reading. Was there less applause after the Megatron auditions than there was for the others? I did my audition, and there was so little reaction afterward that I thought I screwed up big time (I'm also the one that did the "Where is the ... Crush!" I ran out of air for the laugh though). I was so concerned with how I did I had a little panic attack and I didn't notice the reaction to the other auditions. So, did everyone else receive less applause than previous characters' auditions had received, or did I just screw up that bad? |

I went! I was the one and only Caboose, at your service. I auditioned for Sentinel and Megatron.
If you saw me, I probably had Space Case in my shirt pocket later Saturday, and Space Case/Claw Jaw on Sunday. -------------------- QUOTE I'm bad at puns and not much good at anything else! |

I remember seeing you once... but not what you looked like. :> I just saw the Space Case, and I was thinking "huh. I wonder what that signifies, if anything..." (how typical of me not to remember the human) ah well... I'll meet more people next year... I was a head-shaven guy with a purple shirt and purple hip-packs. (looking alternatively intensely focused, or frightened.) |

I went, and also auditioned for Sentinel and Megatron. And failed.

I actually stayed in downtown at the Mariott at Bloor and Yonge. Priceline got me a room there for $50/night. I took the Bloor line all the way to Kipling, then the Kipling bus up to Dixon, then that bus over to the hotel.
I walked into the hotel. I walked past the "Transformers that never were" seminar and looked in from outside for a few minutes. The staff member inside gave me a dirty look. I went to the registration area. I turned around and left. It just didn't interest me this year. I still like Transformers, but this convention really doesn't do anything for me. The dealer room is pathetic, and the seminars are good, but the crowd control is terrible. I think the organizers of TFCon need to find a new venue. I got to meet Mark Ryan at Motor City Comic Con already, and I could chat with him for a good 10 minutes without a line of 100+ people behind me, so that wasn't really a draw to TFCon for me this year. The other voice actors didn't hold my interest, nor the other events. It wasn't worth $20 to me. So, I spent the rest of the day hitting the various other points of interest in Toronto. Saw a great play, and had a great dinner. I think last year was the last TFCon I will attend. Toronto is just too damn expensive anymore. Until the economy turns around, I just don't have the money for Transformers. And even then, I just don't have the space for them anymore. I love visiting Toronto, but the prices of everything are just really too high for what I normally expect. -------------------- ![]() |

I'm suspicious that something got in the way. like staff giving you a dirty look. what do you mean by crowd control? why do they need a new venue? (besides the panel room being too far away from the enlarged dealer room. although to be fair, it's probably a shorter distance than ANY of the FunPub BotCons have had.) Is this a parody of "BotCon sucks"? That you evaluated it without even attending anything? Still, I found a few dealers with good prices. One guy was actually selling his used stuff at decent prices. 2/3rds through the day and he had sold out of everything and was going home. I should have bought more from him. but there's other things you could have done, like sell stuff on parts trading night if you have too much stuff, socialize with non-celebrities (that is, fans)... Eric Bauza was a riot. He's really good at doing voices. so versatile. |

It was my first TF con of any kind, and truth be told, I expected something bigger. But I felt that for the amount of people and the amount of space, it all worked rather well. I never really had any trouble getting into anything or doing anything. I had plenty of fun.

The only negative thing I said about the convention was that the dealer room is pathetic, which I mean to say I just never find what I need there. Yes, I will admit the staff member giving me a dirty look was one of the reasons that started me on a bad mood. I'm so sorry I had a different opinion than you. Lighten up. Wait, so... how does 'Couldn't find what I want' translate into a loaded word like 'pathetic'? Who needs to lighten up? Pot. Kettle.
And dirty looks? Eh? I walked into a few panels after start time and never received any dirty looks. Misinterpretation, perhaps? Anyway... I went. I had fun. I'd be happy to go again. |
