I agree. Great writing showing a true understanding of the character.
This is such a fantastic comic. I can't say that enough. -------------------- |

Nothing but agreement on all points. This was probably my favorite issue of the series so far, just for the great understanding of the characters, and the amazing writing. This is my favorite comic right now, and I can't see how that's going to change anytime soon. Especially with next issue being the Egon spotlight I've been looking forward to.

I broke down and bought all 7 issues on comixology over the weekend. I'm hooked. I laughed out loud several times each issue. Like this part:
(Egon is late attacking the main ghost in the park because haunted carousel horses attacked him) Peter: What kept you? Egon: Wild horses. Peter: Well they aren't supposed to do that. I may have mangled that. The issues are on my phone which is out of juice so I can't verify. Either way. Great stuff. I hope they keep it up for a long long time. -------------------- Reclaim the suffix. ![]() |

Just a heads up for everyone, but the trade collection of the most recent story arc (so Vol. 2) will contain a bonus story not in the singles.
Dammit, now I gotta doubledip. At least the trades are real cheap on Amazon, though. -------------------- Hey, check out one of my sites!

Hmmm, my local comic shop hasn't gotten any issues since #5. I think this will be my better option. When does it come out?

So finally read issue 8, not as good as last issue, though I think its hard to compare to the level of awesomeness there. But I found this a bit boring, with the acception of Roger Baugh: Who is EGB Egon in design. Makes me curious what they are going to do with him.

Yeah that's where I get them. I guess Spengler's been busy or something. I won't spoil anything, but I do think issue 10 felt a little rushed, as far as pacing.

I finally was able to catch up with this series this week, after having the singles pile up. I'm clearly missing a lot of the references but it's still pretty sweet stuff. I mean that's pretty clearly Billy Dee Williams.
I imagine the cartoon voices instead of the movie. -------------------- |

Haven't missed an issue!
It feels like a blessing to have a monthly Ghostbusters comic this good. I agree that #10 felt a bit loaded, but the previous installment flowed really well. I guess the main arc is going to catch up with the back-up at some point (though where did Peter get Ecto-1 to drive back solo?). Schoening seems to be slowing down with his easter eggs a bit, which is fine; the guy's gotta make deadlines *somehow*. After this series and his recent Splinter Microseries for TMNT, Erik Burnham's quickly becoming a favorite writer of mine. The guy's just *good* and he understands oldschool pacing; none of that Bendis-wannabe BS so many writers today are going for. I do kind of wish IDW would expand to a spin-off title like they do most of their really popular releases, but I suppose Ghostbusters doesn't sell enough copies to warrant more material each month. -------------------- Hey, check out one of my sites!

I do believe Ecto-1 is visible in issue 9 next to the RV during the pit stop bust early on. Though part 2 of the backup seems to insinuate that Venkman is driving east to Louisiana from New Mexico, which makes no sense in context of the main story. I'll have to reread it to make sure.

Local comic shop has been all sorts of FUBAR, I'm definitely going to have to go for that second graphic novel.

Might be a good call, since it'll have a bonus story in it not published in the singles (though it may omit the Tristan Jones back ups, unfortunately). -------------------- Hey, check out one of my sites!

Okay, so FINALLY got issues 9 and 10!
Done with 9 so far, well main story of 9. And I just really loved it. It felt like a classic episode of RGB, and was really nice in character all around. Was the Red Gnome incident in any of the one-shots? Re: Back-up story placement - Peter mentions that "We have one more city on this road trip" so to me it seems like it takes place between issue 11 and 12. Also is it me, or does Peter on the last page look like his RGB design? Well on to issue 10! -------------------- ***Signature removed by Staff due to size restrictions. Was the Red Gnome incident in any of the one-shots? Not in anything IDW has done so far. QUOTE Also is it me, or does Peter on the last page look like his RGB design? Yeah, he's in his RGB model, which was jarring at first, but I was nevertheless happy to see it again. I'll give IDW some credit, their artists have the liberty to interpret the characters any way they want. While it doesn't always turn out okay (the first two dreadful minis), it still makes things visually interesting. I like seeing how different artists try to capture and express the personalities of each character in unique ways. Schoening is still tops, of course. -------------------- Hey, check out one of my sites!

It wasn't jarring to me, I like that they are using it just because for me RGB is pretty much the first thing my mind tends to go to when I think Ghostbusters, yes even over the movies, since I watched it SO much as a kid. Hell, even when I read the dialogue I hear the Season 1 RGB Voice cast (Peck being the only exception of course.). Anyway issue 10: I continue to love Peter as he makes the most unique solution to an angry mob; Mood Slime. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) Ooh, nice call back to the Infestation arc. ...And of course not only are they doing the thriller Dance, but they got Zombie Thriller-era Micheal Jackson as well... I didn't feel that this story was that loaded, though not was good as 9's. -------------------- ***Signature removed by Staff due to size restrictions. Bumping this, as I finally just got around to reading the last three issues. While the Huanted America stuff was interesting, it wasn't great either. #13 is the return of the plot, as well as the return of the Rookie from the game, and in an even bigger surprise, Janoz appears as well. I think this disavows the other Ghostbusters game, but I'm not sure. Still kinda hard to get used to Roger, Jeanie's date, looking like EGB Egon.
As for the main plot it will be interesting to see where the stuff with the Ghostsmashers go, though I kinda predict that it's not going to end well. -------------------- ***Signature removed by Staff due to size restrictions. Please keep to 500X200 images and text included.***

Probably the last time I bump this, as I don't think there is much interest here on this board between Ninja Turtles and Ponies.
Dapper Dan posted the cover to the next Ghostbusters story arc, I'm just posting the link due to MASSIVE spoilers: http://dapperdanschoening.deviantart.com/g...138218#/d5i6dq0 HIGHLIGHT to view: Apparently the Ghostsmashing goes really bad, and now the Ghostbusters have vanished off the face of the earth, maybe literally. Leading to a new team needing to be formed to both find out what happened to them and deal with NY's ghost problems in the mean time. I wonder if this will lead into them doing an adaption of the Extreme Ghostbusters cast (Since we already have Kylie), of the Sanctum of Slime cast since Janosz is being reintroduced in the comic and he had a role in the game, which had 4 new ghostbusters. And in the non-spoilery Ghostbusters stuff: Dapper Dan has also ressurected his 13 Ghosts of Halloween project starting with the most famous ghost in all the franchise: (IMG:http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2012/293/8/6/864737872435593b36e57cdd26987277-d5iepdn.jpg) http://dapperdanschoening.deviantart.com/a...Ghost-333250043 -------------------- ***Signature removed by Staff due to size restrictions.
