I remain unimpressed by Kre-o.

Especially since they are doing repaints of these things too. Well, I'm assuming that Black BB is the same "mold" as the old one. Is it different?

And more importantly, the existing Bumblebee sets don't have a doggy.

They look awful to me, really unappealing colors and builds.

And why all the human figures?

I'm not sure that we know them yet. And unless the official names turn out to be better, here are the ones I'm using:

Scrapper (duh)
Bonecrusher (bot mode is pretty different, but alt mode is right)
Drill Bit
Overload (since he's red like the dude from ROTF)

I reallyove that Devastator set, but I'm not going to love the price. And I do wish it had mode cybertronian Kreons. Still, much more here for your money that the giant ROTF toy.

I definitely want Devastator. Maybe two, to build both robot sets at once.

These are cool, and I may have to "get" the new Kreons, but I might be tempted to actually buy these sets if they would stray away from the vehicle sets and go towards playsets.

The Transformers are rife with playset fodder. We could get non-transforming sets of Metroplex, Trypticon, The Ark, The Nemesis, Scorponok, Fort Max, and Sherman Dam just to name a few.

The fact that a 2012 Kre-O Drill Bit has a robotic version of 1997 BW Drill Bit's head is the kind of thing I love about this hobby.

The new Kre-O sets do lean much more to "playsets", at least, as much as similarly-sized Lego sets do. You see the Bee set has the checkpoint. The Optimus/Megatron 2-pack has a bank "playset". The Devastator set has construction site buildings. And the Cliff/Vehicons and Barricade/Autotroopers sets, while largely army-builders, have a few "environment" pieces.

I believe only the Wheeljack/Knock Out and Vortex sets are just "vehicles", and the Jack/Knock set are smaller vehicles at that.

Massive "environments"... well... don't hold your breath. Again, look at Lego... outside of the licensed movie sets with big iconic sets or setpieces, most of the output there is vehicles or smaller buildings.

So you have something to repaint without losing one of your precious Kreons you actually like.

But I would LOVE Kreons if they gave us a Sari, Rad, Carlos, Miko, and Tobias, and GOB.
