What full intro? The full intro is the little bit you see on Cartoon Network.

There was a rumor that the DVDs will contain full version of the short intro.

As I own the DVD set of the first half of the season I gotta disappoint ya. What ya see on CN is what ya get on the DVDs

Forest Of Magi Oar - green... greeeeeeeeeen.

Nothing special. The POWAH OF PAPEEEER is pretty silly. Oh, well, at least it lacked "Whiskers".
I give it C.

There was. It was about paper.

HIGHLIGHT to view:
A group of origami-folding lemurs (?) with paper-centric super powers saved the Thundercats from spirits that came out of the wood they had gathered for a campfire in the middle of a magic forest. However when helping them defend their school, Lion-O realized the lemurs were actually the bad guys because they were cutting down swaths of forest over-zealously to make their paper. So he sided with the creature who they said was the bad guy, a giant magic hawk/bat beast. In doing so and managing to step back and take a look at the big picture, Lion-O was then able to "master" Sight-Beyond-Sight.

The Good:
The Sword of Omens refused to attack the spirits and giant bird creature because it knew they were the good guys.
There were some mostly-funny one-liners.

The Bad:
Kinda boring.
Painful dull-surprise non-reactions all around. "A giant spirit bird is about to attack! I'll stand here and stare at it dully without any attempts to take action!"

I thought it was a pretty good episode. Again, no "whiskers," which I can only see as being a good thing. I must say though, the whole thing was painfully predictable.

HIGHLIGHT to view:
I knew the moment the sword refused to fight the spirits from the firewood that they weren't the bad guys. They didn't even seem to do any attacking even after Tygra took the first shot. Then the people from the academy stepped in, and keeping in mind that the sword refused to fight the spirits, I saw no reason to trust the academy students over the spirits. Then I saw the paper mill and it was like "yup! They're the bad guys."

Nice episode over all. Pretty magic FX. I'm still liking the non-LionO-centric episodes that seem to be the norm now after the hiatus. And anytime I don't have to hear the whole "whiskers" thing, I'm happy.

But yeah, when you can figure out the plot twist in the first 5 minutes of an episode, that's not a good thing.

Andrea Romano really seems to enjoy casting Hector Elazando as giant talking magic birds.

Anyway, I'm guessing that all the human characters that might resurface in this new series are going to end up like the people in this episode; weird quasi-humans. That's fine.

This was a very... anime-looking episode. Really, really Japanesey. But considering it was all about origami, that's understandable. The "stock footage" sequences of the paper warriors casting paper spells went on too long, but at least they never recycled any of them multiple times per episode.

All in all, it was probably the most expensive-looking episode since the premier. Very flashy animation.

Storywise, well, Zig as a villain didn't seem to make much sense. All he had to do was plant saplings after cutting down the trees. The only reason he didn't is because he was... evil? Just because?

Ah well, I'm still enjoying the weirdness of the world they're building and it's very much in tune with the type of zaniness of the original series.

What I REALLY liked was Wily-Kat actually getting to use something from his bag of tricks in a fight. Is this the first time they've done that in this series? Every fight they've been involved in so far, I don't recall them using any of their stuff.

Of course, the original was also considered anime-esque for its time as well. I'm also liking that even the stock animation that is used isn't as much of a blatent brick wall taking you out of the moment type thing as it used to be in the 80's. My goodness that used to be bad!

And I really hated that I liked this about this episode, but I really liked it, like some A.D.D. kid looking at something shiny. It was nice, flashy, I just couldn't look away from it.

That seems to be how it always is whenever shows go into environmental issues. They make a strawman arguement, making the offender evil on all counts. This is probably better than most. At least these they didn't have them kick every puppy in sight and a few that were hidden like I've seen some other media do.

I was excited about that too. I have both the Wilykit and Wilykat toys. I liked how they had Kit use her flute from day one. But I always wondered when they were ever going to use Kat's grapple thingies. I always find it weird when toys have accessories that are never shown in the show. Well...he finally used them! Yay!

The Lion-O Tygra moments were appreciably subtle. Though I predict this will be re-broadcast next spring to coincide with the new Lorax movie.

I found this episode to be very Anime inspired. The villains were all pretty R.O.D. but it was pretty cool with the usage of the villains powers. The supposed villain made me however want to find the Rats. And poor Cheetara is not too good with out her staff. Still one point to Snarf for not wussing out and taking it like a man after the prank was pulled on him.

One bit I liked was how Lion-O and Tygra pretty much mutually acknowledged themselves as "competing" for Cheetarah, as it were, in their chat at the start of the episode. "May the best cat win" indeed.

I should have known Viragor didn't mean us any harm when the Sword of Omens didn't obey me, and anyway, it was just plain stupid to assume it might be bad just... what the hug am I talking about?

That was an alright episode. I liked Viragor(however it's spelled). As soon as papermill came up, it became obvious what kind of story we were going to see.

One thing that would have helped the episode flow better would be if the entire school/mill didn't appear to be empty except for the 3 lemurs. As is it just felt like they were making all that paper just for themselves.

Agreed, loved this episode. As silly as the paper magic seemed to me in the trailer, it makes total sense - enchanted forest, enchanted wood -why wouldn't the paper made from them be enchanted?

And they really made Viragor quite bestial and evil-looking for us to bite the hook. Especially considering how it was Zig who gave Lion-O the big medidative lesson just beforehand! And I loved all the dialogue:

"So you are gonna eat me?" "...Considering it." (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)
"The problem with ghosts is, you cannot simply punch them in the face!"

I wonder what species the woodforgers were. They looked kinda like Thundercats, even.

But what cracks me up on the Thundercats message board is how people were first complaining that the series is rushing, that it doesn't do any side-stories not related to the main plot, and how it needs to develop characters. But when it does, like in the last three episodes - people complain that it's not moving the plot with the stones along, and that where is Mumm-Ra... Primus, there is no pleasing fans. So I picked up three of the four inch figures at Toys R us yesterday; Lion-O, Tygra and Panthro, to be precise. There was also buttloads of Mumm-Ras.

THE GOOD: They have pretty good articulation for Bandai toys, and the paint isn't bad, either. They also come with a few accessories, included "stored" versions of Panthro's nunchaku and Lion-O's Sword of Omens.

THE BAD: All the weapons are made of rubbery plastic. This is good for Panthro's nunchaku and REALLY good for Tygra's whip, but the longer version of the Sword of Omens was warped in package. Also, the Claw Shield doesn't clip onto Lion O's arm. There's also the fact that Lion-O's right shoulderpad and his hip-mounted armor impedes some of his articulation.

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied. I wish I could have found Cheetara and maybe the Kittens, but ah well.

I think the Woodforgers were supposed to be. . . Pumas? The ones who forged the Sword of Omens. Or half-breeds, at least. They had that vaguely cat-like look, but no real identifying marks.

QUOTE(Daith @ Nov 12 2011, 05:52 PM) *
The villains were all pretty R.O.D.

I know! When I saw Gami's paper-familiar I squee'd. Wonder who'd win in a fight between her and Maggie. . .

I also loved how Lion-O's impetuousness (in lassoing Viragor without thinking it through) and intelligence (answering his own question) were on display. And any show that can work in a Macross Missile Dodge gains points in my book.

MTV confirms my concerns of the 8" Classics line essentially being shelved and started over as a 6" Classics. Sure they hint that an 8" Cheetara is coming but...then what? I don't want to spend my money on a line that there's no guarantee will continue beyond 3 figures. I may just jump ship and start over with the (still impressive looking) 6" Classics.

http://geek-news.mtv.com/2011/11/15/exclus...s=share_twitter

Nice to see they're aware of the ugly joint issue and are seemingly doing something about it.
