I know why they lost, too. Losing Raymond and Hamhuis to injury really hurt Vancouver's chances. This is like deja vu or something. Cars on fire, portapotties overturned... oy. -------------------- Listen, just do what I tell you, and everything will be fine.

I can understand why they're shaken up but
WOO BRUINS KEKEKEKEKE -------------------- Does anyone see City-Swimmer? Is he gliding beneath the silver water? Is he creeping 'round a corner, hugging a wall, silent as a shadow in the dark?

I hope they never get a sniff of the Cup again, if this is the galactically stupid jive that they do when they lose.
I'd like to pin it on the anti-clutch nature of Lebrongo, but really, Thomas just shut the door like a champ. They had their opportunities, and were bested. Shame their fans can't lose with dignity. Congratulations, Bruins fans! I'm going to have "Shipping up to Boston" riverdancing around in my brain for days. This post has been edited by Strafe: Jun 15 2011, 11:24 PM |

Makes me glad I don't follow, or care about, Hockey.
My own home team sucks, of course, and unlike the vast majority of residents in my city I just can't overlook that fact and get excited about what are some of the most expensive tickets in all the NHL. I'd rather drive across the border to see a hockey game than go to one in Toronto, and it would probably cost me much less (gas included). -------------------- ![]() |

Ugh. I preferred the good vibes from Game 2. This is all kinda disappointing.

And it spawns fighting in the streets if the home teams loses.
Or just fighting in the streets if your a montrealer. They riot here regardless of the outcome. -------------------- |

I'd rather drive across the border to see a hockey game than go to one in Toronto, and it would probably cost me much less (gas included). This. What's worse is that some of these people are probably just band-wagon hoppers, who don't care about the team, or hockey in general until the play-offs. I pride myself on not being one of these people. I couldn't give a crap about sports in general, and I'm not one of these people that don't care all year then suddenly become superfans at play-off time. Especially when it's the home team involved. -------------------- |

Isn't a "Canadian riot" just when someone forgets to say sorry? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif)
Seriously though congrats Boston, and grow up Vancouver rioters. Jeez. |

Who doesn't do this? Half the time sports fans IN THE WINNING CITY do the same damn thing. I can personally attest that no one set any fires or tipped any cars over today during the Dallas Mavericks championship parade, nor did they after the game was won. The only menace even remotely felt by anyone was heat exhaustion, it was a well-conducted affair. |

There are some impressive pictures in that group, but at the same time they're all rather sickening.

Can you dig it? Group: Citizen Posts: 533 Joined: 12-September 04 From: Vancouver, Canada Member No.: 5,022 Faction: Autobot |
They shut down all the liquor stores in the afternoon, for all the good it did. Many of the troublemakers were actually coming from OUTSIDE of Vancouver, in the...let's say boonies. They would have caused trouble no matter what happened with the game. Between the dozen or so fires, mass looting, tear gas, molotov cocktails, riot police, trampling, & helicoptors overhead, the downtown core gave reminded me of Escape from LA, at times. There was even a production of Wicked going on at a theatre right at one of the main riot points, & they barricaded the audience inside the theatre for most of the evening, to keep them safe. Heritage buildings were damaged, & multiple workplaces of people I know were pretty much destroyed during the carnage.
My disgust is palpable. |
