Don't forget that Animated is a joint venture with Cartoon Network. More restrictions there similar to the restrictions about the movie toys. I wonder if Bludgeon and Seaspray are off the table for the club to use. . .

Apparently the restrictions on non-use of toys is not as definitive as we might have thought. FunPub revealed a Club Exclusive where they're going to turn Animated Blurr into Transtech Cheetor.

As said earlier in the thread, the toys aren't off-limits, but the fiction is.

So yes, we could theoretically get any number of Animated toys shoehorned into other universes, but I don't really see FunPub doing that outside of Transtech Cheetor.

They have ideas.

I hope one of those ideas is making the Autotroopers, because I really, really can't see Hasbro bothering with such an inconsequential character.

I'm really tempted to order the takary versions, but am afraid the colors will look out of place with my collection.

Reports are that Takara's Blackout, at least, meshes very well with a Hasbro collection. I should have mine tomorrow, but someone else who already has one can chime in on this.

QUOTE(Zek Patterson @ Jul 1 2010, 08:22 AM) *
Also I know, I just KNOW that the second I buy them, Hasbro will say "Jk, here, have the rest of Animated."

Takara Blackout reportedly looks noticably better due to additional paint apps (the face, for example) that might make it worth it regardless.

Do we know for certain that it's not just the toys but the fiction? For the movie toys it's both fiction and toys right? Will we see a Botcon Bludgeon/Seaspray/ROTF Dirge/ROTF Thrust repaint?

Also, just because the club got Transtech Cheetor doesn't mean that it was easy. Pulled this from TFW, if true this might explain why they got Blurr.

QUOTE(TFW2005)
Hasbro said previously in a Q&A or Panel that Blurr was derived from the concept drawings for TT Cheetor - thus the super skinny legs and the hubless back wheels.

I'm pretty sure they said that if the design wasn't co-created by Paramount, they can use it.

Maybe if the Seacons are successful at BBTS we can see Blackout as an exclusive at a place like that.

I don't think Fun Pub would like to do that (at least as Animated Blackout) since Japan has already released him and a lot of people who wanted him bought him.

He does fit in perfectly. The only difference is the purple symbols absent on most figures.

Well, gots me my Blackout. Don't know how it compares to the Hasbro (prototype) version, but it fits in VERY well with everything else, save the purple Decepticon symbols. Bit disappointed in the shoulder articulation (or lack thereof) and that there's no place to store the disk launcher weapon in robot mode except to clip it onto one of the amrs, but otherwise me lovey. If not I guess we know a couple of future Botcon exclusives.

Fun Pub said they have no intention of visiting the Animated Universe. Sorry Wheels. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)

What the hug I'd go or pay their high prices for not go, just for Animated toys, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I was considering Blackout but changed my mind. He looks fun but too similat to Lugnut, who I have greater attachment to character wise. I'd rather having a ranting fanboy loyalist than a movie homage (huh, ironic humour?). At the moment the only characters I'm keen to get are Jazz, Ultra Magnus, Wingblade Prime and Rodimus. Possibly Arcee to balance out the Autobot piston fest.
