Rodimus and Ironhide are still scheduled for fall release at TRU, iirc.
Blackout, Wingblade Prime and Hydrobee (and various redecos) are the molds that have no release planned at this time. And from what I saw/read on the BBTS listing for Takara wingblade prime, it still is the Deluxe mold. -------------------- |

Have no interest in Ironhide, being a remold. But I did not know about Rodimus already planned to be coming out in the US. Sweeeeeet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-silverbolt.gif)
Hydrobee is too.... busy for my tastes. Guess I'll just have to worry about WB Prime then. Awesome. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) -------------------- ![]() Why? Because it's racist. |

I want Wingblade Prime. I don't mind having to buy the Japanese version.

Rodimus and Ironhide were on display in the BC dealer room, so that means that they'll see release this year, right? I think that was the intention of the display cases. (The preview stuff that we were shown at the presentations, where no photography was allowed, is all next year+.)

I was seriously thinking about buying the voyager sized Hydro bumblebee. because I didn't like the weak design & weak enginerring of the deluxe animated bumblebee.
however I just don't like hydro bumblebee enough to pay import & shipping fees. This post has been edited by deathy: Jun 29 2010, 05:54 AM |

Wish they could just make Blackout and the other Animated figures HTS exclusives. That or now would be a great time for IDW to do a "Season 4" via comics. With an advertisement for Blackout, Rodimus, etc. via mail order.
If not I guess we know a couple of future Botcon exclusives. -------------------- |

I got the impression that anything not in the cases (like Blackout) isn't going to see a US release.

The Hasbro staff said (and I believe them) that they really do want to get all the molds out for the toys they've designed and created. If they've got the tooling for it and the plans for it, they want to release it. But as said, at this point it's a tough sell to get a retailer to stock waves of a dead line. It's up in the air at this point. No plans, but they're trying. So take that as you will - it's not that they won't or don't want to release the toys, but it's just that they don't know how it might happen. The advice about just deciding whether it's worth the extra $30 for you is pretty much spot on, I think. And that's what I don't understand. The Generations line is perfect for these. First we were told that Universe was available to pull from all TF universes. Now we hear that same thing about Generations. If Hasbro really means what they say, then there should be no problem slipping these into the Generations waves. -------------------- How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?

The hang up is, Generations is currently only a deluxe line, and the last deluxe mold (Rodimus) already has a release lined up. Untill they're able to fit more obviously non-movie toys into Voyager boxes (While we're getting some ambiguously movie/not-movie voyager molds like Seaspray, they're still being packaged and sold to retailers as movie tie-ins), it's not much of an option.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) Randy They have access to the toys, but not the fictional universe. So the toy could be used, but it wouldn't be in the Animated universe. -------------------- I have signatures disabled because they suck.

Yeah but I doubt there would be many instances they'd have one that fits into what they want to do. Transtech Cheetor being one of the only exceptions I would tend to think.

Plus, I'm kind of expecting TT Cheetor to be produced in the more standard kind of plastics/finish, rather than the Animated matte finish.

Just a side note, but, why is everyone (Hasbro, Fun Pub, retail chains) so readily saying, "No and eff you" to the Animated universe? Is it cus the designs are to unique to the line so that they can't and don't really sell well amongst other lines? Is the asthetic too... unpleasing? I don't get it. What's with such a hurry to move on and never look back? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-wildride.gif)

For Hasbro and retailers I think it's because they've moved on to newer series and want to work with those. For Fun Pub it may have to do with wanting to work in their own universes they have already / not wanting to use figures from a style that is no longer getting molds produced from it.
The last part is just conjecture on my part. Randy -------------------- ![]() |

Although in this case I thought it was stated that the molds were available but not the fictional universe, so they didn't want to play with Animated at all. |

Maybe if the Seacons are successful at BBTS we can see Blackout as an exclusive at a place like that.

I'm really tempted to order the takary versions, but am afraid the colors will look out of place with my collection. Also I know, I just KNOW that the second I buy them, Hasbro will say "Jk, here, have the rest of Animated."
Murhpy's law and all that. -------------------- |
